What people say

Friendly staff, garage parking, size of the room, terrific view of the water from our bedroom and close to downtown!. Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Really comfortable and welcoming to arrive after a long journey! (Great fire in the reception area!). Everything was very good but particularly the staff attitudes, food quality, service and room standards.
all reviews Peaceful atmosphere with a pleasant view of the sea canal.Friendly staff, Location and quality of food.Excellent food, teh restaraunt was divine. Service, Parking Facility. the food. Very friendly and helpful staff . . . but of course, I was in Ireland!. It's location - right beside the sea.The size- not to big you know the guest during their stay. The friendliness of the staff particularly at reception and in the barwhich made us feel very relaxed and at home!Loved the views over the bayfrom the bar terrace and bedroom.fantastic!Dinner was really good.Foodvery high standard and nicely presented.Very enjoyable overall and areal find!. peace quiet and comfort. Stunning views from the room, lovely area to stay, very peaceful - just what we wanted for our honeymoon. Everything was perfect!. There was a big Birthday Party on a Friday night. Fair enough but open doors and noisy people on the balcony until about 5 am should have been monitored. Reception were advised next morning and apologised. Apart from this probably isolated occurrence the experience was excellent. No elevator. Restaurant was unusally packed because the QE2 had left Cobh that day - which I wasn't aware of beforehand. So, a bit of a snooty response when I asked for a table for one.The internet wasn't working for 4 days. The staff in the dining room should try to be a bit friendlier.Oneparticular lady who took our order was too peremptory, hurried andimpatient.Unfriendly really and made us feel ill at ease.a nice place to stay but the quality of the experience and service has deteriorated since our last stay two years ago. Staff are not too friendly there!! added to the fact that the manager barged into our room one evening - he'd got the wrong room but he still came in anyway!!! Also you can't dine in the hotel restaurant unless you reserve - even if you are a hotel guest!!.

Hotel information details

Cobh, formally known as Queenstown, is the famous embarkation and departure point for many the great transatlantic liners, and as the point of emigration for many Irish citizens, from Ireland, to the United States.

It was also the last port of call of the Titanic. All aspects of this history can be explored through the Cobh Heritage Centre located next door, the Titanic Trial, which departs daily, and St. Coleman's Cathedral.

The hotel is also only 15 minutes from the Jameson Heritage Centre, where you can learn about the history of Irish Whiskey and even sample some of the local produce.

If you want something a little more adventurous, then angling and harbour cruises depart from the wharf outside the hotel. All water sports including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing are available at The Cobh Sailing Centre together with tennis and equestrian sports are all within a few minutes of the hotel, who can organise the activities for you.

There are a surprising number of championship golf courses in the Cork area and all are easily accessible from the WatersEdge Hotel; the closest being Fota Island Golf Club (12 minutes) which is a truly remarkable championship course and held the Irish Open in 2002.
