what we where really impressed about during our stay was that everytime we passed a member of staff they went out of their way to open doors,say hello,basically giving you the time of day,the small things count alot. This is an outstanding hotel. It is extremely well finished with easy to see 'attention to detail'. At the reduced rates offered via LetsBookHotel.com, this hotel is easily value for money!.

No, it was spot on.Car Park entrance. floor and room numbering confusing. The only thing that wasn't great was the breakfast, which was overcooked on both mornings of our stay. Bit of a strange setup - there are three separate sets of elevators - one to rooms, one to suites, and one to the car park. If you use the wrong one, you end up lifting your luggage up sets of stairs.Though finding the Hotel very comfortable - I also found it be quite dark inside , personally I prefer when Hotels are full of natural light and are bright. I realise that sometimes this may not be possible but the very best use must be made of natural light and this was not done here - but I stress this is a very personal opinion. Air Conitioning in the Bar - too cold - the should get the remedied.Bar price for glass of wine expensive €6. Was not shown brand name of wine - seemed to be poured from full size bottle ?? time it was opened / or label. The hotel car park is a little bit of a maze. I feel the staff need totake more time to explain to the customer its exact set up.Exterior appearance is not attractive and the entrance to reception is not obvious. Confusing elevator system. a man entered our room at 22:00 at night. he was given a room key card to our room by accident. very embarrasing for both of us and my wife. rang reception and when i explained to the young receptionist what happened she replied " ok, ok" and hung up. very unprofessional. otherwise i had a great stay and all other staff were excellent........ Breakfast could be improved - the full irish was obviously not freshly cooked and the rashers and pudding were tasteless. For reference, the Radisson in Cavan and Clayton Hotel in Galway have great breakfasts. Could also have bigger bath towels.Some unreasonable and impatient guests who should try to be more human. lol. There should be better security for residents parking.Dull decor. Food was disappointing. Breakfast was over crowded, rushed and food over-cooked. Meal at bar was not cooked fully.Double bed was two single matresses. non-smoking rooms. Checked in at 16:15 room not ready had to come back in half an hour . Room had a musty smell but this dissapaited after a few hours.Two bulbs were not working one of was fixed the following day. Ask from double in booking but given twin without been ask would twin do.

Information about the area

Bantry sits at the head of Bantry Bay on the main N71 road between Cork and Kenmare and Killarney. The area is steeped in history and fantastic scenery from Sherkin Island across Roaring Water Bay, to the famous landmark of Mizen Head around Dunmanus Bay and across the peninsula. This now proudly shows off The Sheep's Head Way, one of the best walks in Ireland, to Bantry Bay.

18th century Bantry House and Gardens are a major tourist attraction, bringing visitors from far and wide. This is considered one of the great houses of Ireland and in the courtyard is the French Armada Exhibition Centre. Bantry is ideal for touring the region, exploring the beautiful bays and beaches, spectacular hills and welcoming, cosy hostelries.

There are numerous activities available in Bantry, including 2 leading golf courses, Bantry Golf Club, an 18-hole course designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr., and Glengarrif. For the best in Irish walking, cycling, fishing, sailing and water sports or for just relaxing, Bantry and the South-West has always been one of the most popular tourist destinations.
