The ambiance of the hotel and the traditional design. The gardens and the pool were relaxing. The staff were helpful on directions, finding a motorcycle and even getting me to the train station. The location is more secluded but no more than a 5-10 minute motorcycle ride. The breakfast is also alright. Excellent and kind service of personnel Free minibus on request to Malioboro main shopping street. Really nice typical Javanese decoration of hotel lobby and the front of the rooms, also well arranged gardens. After a long tiresome business day, it is a pleasure to come home to Puri Artha Hotel.

The massage was ok but not the best I've had for the price. The pool isn't really good. On the second day there was some conference in the hotel, so our breakfast was moved to less convenient area without notification. We stayed there for 3 days, i just hope they can change the breakfast menu. Eating the same food is a bit boring. I do not like the place receptionis and a separate room with the. The massage/spa has a bathtub that is in front of the toilet cubicle. Not very smart and it doesn't have a clean or relaxing feeling. Bathroom need renovation. We stayed during the end of Ramadan period and the staff gave us sometimes incorrect information about what we could / could not find open in the city. The location is not that perfect to stay in the city. The toilet was not really good. Must improve the breakfast to more internacional food is only local. Do not ask for directions at the front desk You will be more lost. The bathroom shower was without pressure, difficult to take a refreshing shower. Location is a bit far out. Most of the hotel. Mostly that hot water is only from 5 to 10 am/pm otherwise cold water. Too dark everywhere no light. Bathroom very old etc etc. The staff at the reception were extremely apathetic. Unfriendly. They quoted any ridiculous prices when it came to arranging a taxi. (Especially the man in green suit at the desk!). Internet is poor and they don't always give you the password straight away. Room was very dirty. Just shabby. The hotel is on either side of a busy road, so you have to cross from one side to the other every time you want to see the reception etc. And we paid a FORTUNE to stay here. So disappointed!.
