A very nice place to stay: a haven of peace in the middle of busy Medan. Staying there feels like you are far, far away from the city. The rooms are good and clean. Airconditioning works well. Supplimentaries such as coffee, tea and bottles of water (definitively no tap water!!) are present. The swimming pool is nice and offers a panoramic view over de garden below. Though some extra sun beds would have been welcome. The restaurant is situated on a higher part of the compound and has an open.
all reviews » Peaceful location and generally pleasant staff (particularly Ellie who was the best of them all). We took the trip to the Supiso Piso waterfall and were given an interesting full day tour, including views over the magnificent Lake Toba, by the Hotel's friendly driver. Swimming pool was refreshing and well worth a visit after all that sightseeing!. After 24 hours of travelling we arrived at the hotel, we received à warm welcome from the staff. Very service minded. Tip: they have a very good and well priced travel agency. You can book your Sumatra trip from here. We arranged à great safe driver at the agency that drove us through Sumatra for 6 days. The rooms were good and the food served at the restaurant was equally good. Very good place for complete rest, stress free environment and very relaxing. Best of all one can check in very early and check out late at no cost..no other hotel provides such flexibility. The design, the garden, the restaurant, friendly staff and owners. It is lovely that there are only 8 apartments. This gives an intimate sphere. They are building 8 extra I believe, but then it is still nice and cosy with a lot of attention for the guests. The hotel is an oasis south of downtown Medan. It is convenient to go into the city, such as for the offered historical tours, yet it's relaxing and away from the hustle of the city. The hotel offers various tours to guests, to mountains, orangutans, etc. beautiful garden, very friendly and helpful staff. Friendly calm place outside of medan. surronding area is very green. Restaurant comfor staff. The bed was quite comfortable. Extra sun beds are recommended. Towels and bed linen were very worn and in need of replacement. A fridge to keep water (and maybe a beer or two...) chilled and a safe in the room would not come amiss. Bad street just outside the hotel with a lot of holes in it for about2 km. So if you go or return by taxi, it is very bumpy. The price is a bit too high for Sumatra standards. While the cost of hotel and meals was reasonable, the cost of field trips was a little on the high side. poor breakfast in the morning and in the evening the hordes of blood lusting mosquitoes made it impossible to enjoy dinner in an open restaurant (and there is no other place to dine); it is somewhat isolated location -- no other restaurants around, even hard to call a taxi to come pick you up (but there are lost of shops around). In the end quite far from medan and therefor little isolated. I don't no. Not clean at all, the complementary bottles in our room were opened and refilled with tab-water! The hotel flip flops were already used. First thing we had to do on arrival is pay for our stay, even before we got to see the room. The food in the restaurant was not good and expensive. I advise to find another place in Medan if you want to catch an early morning flight.
