If you are in Iceland - this is the place to stay !!! This is absolutely the best place one can find to stay in Reykjavik. Bang in main street, small but cosy rooms. However, the best thing about the place is the people ... VERY friendly, helping and smiling faces all around. Trikvi deserves special mention for all his help. The loft (on 4th floor) seems to be where the city hangs out for a casual drink in the evening... beautiful experience.
all reviews » The Loft Hostel was great, the location was on the main street next to a restaurant and ski shop. The atmosphere was great, made heaps friends there, which made the holiday that much better. Definitely the place I'd go back to when in Reykjavik again. The staff were awesome, so helpful and friendly. Was there for the Iceland airwaves festival and loft was an off venue. It was super fun and a great place to meet people for all over the world. Time to time staff don't remind to visitors thai they not alone and must respect other people who live all together It's little bit noisy in Friday...Sunday night - all Reykjavik have a whole night party. During weekends if might be a little noise due to the party outside, so you either join the party or buy some ear plugs :-). Noisy for people who are not used to use earplugs. The usual thing about staying in dormitories... having to get ready in the dark and trying not to wake people up.
