  Its breathtaking view, literally "on the rocks" of the Lybian sea. It is comfortable, quiet, located close to the small harbour from where you can go by boat to some beaches and nearby villages. Palaiochora is a nice place for a enjoyable staying, with many and good restaurants and where people conserve that Mediterranean way-of-life so difficult ... what people say » to find nowadays. - Great location with a view of the ferry, seafront and mountains. Breakfast was very good - fruit, cereal, coffee, juice, cold meat, cheese, bread, croissants, doughnuts, bacon, eggs etc. Staff were very friendly. Room small but adequate. Hotel was very quiet but lots of restaurants and bars very close. Beach lovely. Also local museum worth seeing.

  A really nice place for a relaxed vacation. Service is excellent, and the places really feels out of the way of regular tourism. A really charming "taberna" closeby serves really tasty food. The waitress/cook was a charming elderly woman (who doesn't speak english, but that was all the more fun). The view from the place is great. There is a small s... what people say » hop on the ground where you can get some groceries - The facilities, the service, the friendliness of the owner, the atmosphere, the location, all are exceptional. The owner maintains a small store with basic supplies on the compound, which is very convenient considering that the ~30 people settlement is a long way from places with shops and does not offer any reasonable supply. The place is definitely worth driving the narrow road up to it.
