A family owned hotel. The proprietress was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was large with double and single bed, couch, plus kitchen. This was the least we paid for any hotel on our trip and had by far the best views. It is in a mostly-residential area in one of the higher elevations of the town. We took a taxi (they line up across from the bus station), because we arrived in the evening and weren't sure if we could find it on foot. But after that we walked back and forth to the center of .
all reviews » Very quiet and peaceful, being a 15-20 minute stroll from the busy town centre with a view up to the Palamidi and across to the bay. Large, spacious bedroom which was clean and comfortable, equipped with fan, fridge and small oven. Simple but completely adequate cooking facilities. Small mini-market less than 5 minutes away with a simple grill taverna another 5 minutes down the road. Very good value. Very pleasant people, only too happy to help with any questions. Helps to speak a bit of. Incredibly friendly staff, spectacular views, hidden gem in the city that only those willing to walk the extra 5-10 minutes out of the city center can enjoy. Huge room (one double-bed, one single-bed, and a sofa, etc...), full kitchenette, great views of the sea, city, and fortress from our balcony every morning. And the manager even cleaned our dishes for us if we forgot or left early in the morning. Overall, wonderful stay and would prefer this hotel over any other in the city. Can't beat the. The room was very large and comfortable with nice balcony with beautiful view of Palamidi fortress. Bathroom was large as well. Staff was very nice although she spoke only few words in English, so it was a bit hard to communicate. This is a bit far from the town center (about 15- 20 minutes walking) but the zone is very quiet. On a hill just outside the center, nice and quiet with Fabulous view of side of castle and sea from our comfortably sized balcony. Very clean rooms. Hot water at all times. 5e for taxi from center. The door to the bathroom was a bit ugly with broken lock. WC was very noisy when flushing down. The way to the hotel is very steep and narrow and parking very small. The walls are not soundproof. that it was up a very, very steep hill, as i have problems with my hips and found it difficult. The kitchen facilities was very very poor, 2 pans, 1large plate, no cereal bowls, no bread knife or board, considering the room takes 6 people it was bad. Walls very thin, had a very amorous person next door,Pity it didnt have a bar would have been perfect. If you don't like walking or your planning to be coming to and from all day, you may not enjoy the walk up to the hotel. It's very steep and tiring - but totally worth the view. nasty odour coming from the bathroom. No airco but we did not need it. And for that price we did not expect much anyway. Bit tricky to find with gps and pretty steep road to the hotel but nothing that a car cannot handle. There was nothing we disliked. There wasn.t airconditions. No breakfast. access to parking. I had read other reviews about the parking situation- the steep hill and crowded parking was a bit of a challenge. Also, the walk into the town area or to the nearest beach was long, and the return up the hill was quite strenuous. A water heater, small starting amounts of sugar, coffee & tea bags would have been a plus. The shower stand was too small, but no serious draw backs. No breakfast and too complicate to make one yourself (shops are a bit far and not all the equipment is there). the location is very far from the centre of Nauplion and the room is in fact a window open on the hotel's courtyard. The heater in the bathroom is pretty unsafe. The owner (female) was extremely cold and very noisy.Her Friends would hang around late at night and talk very loudy until midnight at least.I once asked them to "please keep it down, we are trying to sleep" which they did for that night, then in the morning as we were leaving to explore the town she argued that we were basically out of line to ask that, claiming that it was other guest checking in which was obviously a lie. Could go on but will leave it at that. Would never stay here again.
