Stayed in this hotel in early October, 2013. The hotel is located in a very nice place, just 5 minute walk from Sunset Beach, with its calm and shallow waters, perfect for vacation relax. The place itself is a family run business, serviced apartments hotel, combined with a very nice restaurant. The one room apartment had all amenities we needed: a separate bedroom with a built-in closet, queen size bed, dining area with sofa, a balcony with a separate table and chairs, and a dry hanger. In the very 1st hour of our stay at the hotel we changed our flight for 3 days later. The best personal service I've ever got on vacation from the lovely family running the hotel. Excellent dining with local greek/cretan food. The view from pool was lovely to the mountains that still had some snow on the peaks. Very close to beach so we could walk down every day to swim or stroll. There are 4 lovey bays very close. They also have a restaurant located right outside your window and you don't need to go anywhere else to eat, cause you will not find anything better nearby. Hotel has good location for getting arround Xania region and Xania city, and for staying on the beach near hotel. Beach is suitable for small children (not deep). The kitchen has basic amenities, and basic kitchenware, so don't expect sophisticated cooking to take place. That said, I would really recommend to dine at restaurant, especially taking into account grocery prices and time\efforts taken. We are not able to give any negative comment. Beds are stiff as in all mediterranean hotels. Chania city centre is busy and loud. The hotel is ~5 kms west and in a nicer area. But you don't quite get a "pure" island laid back feel - but this has nothing to do with this really nice hotel run by a really nice family. The hotel is located near a noisy road. But you quickly forget about it. And don't let that make you choose anything else. Very limited to what you can cook in the apartment, only 2 hobs, no oven, microwave, grill etc. Only a problem if you are on a tight budget and do not intend to eat out. We loved it all. Could have done with a little more kitchen equipment in the apartment but as soon as we asked everything was provided, and Mamma's cooking was amazing so didn't really eat in!. The kitchen environment should be improved a little. For example we didn't find dishwasher gel. Some comments were made about the kitchen; indeed it is not very big, but good enough to cook a basic meal. If you want more, go to the restaurant and enjoy ;). Nothing.
