The hotel is situated within the fortress, very close to the town centre and the lake Pamvots. Within a couple of minutes walking distance you could get a boat to the Nisi iland. The sfaff were very friendly and gave us valuable information about how to get to different sightseeing places and facilites. Room, though small, was clean and tidy and really cute with those flower-sprinkled blinds and as we only slept there it was more than enough. Breakfast was ok - hearty let's say. We do recommend.
all reviews » We got the first floor corner with the windows that open up to the outside courtroom...BEST Room ever. At first, I was scared it would be noisy being right next to the reception area, but we didn't hear anything at all. The room itself is cozy and decorated very nicely. The pillows smell amazing and the bed is so comfortable...we didn't want to get out! The brothers who work there are also very nice and helpful..they recommended a guide for our visit to Zagoria and it turned out to be fantastic. Κastro hotel is located at the castle of the old city of Ioannina.The rich culture & history of Epiros presented in the museums nearby.Touristic gems are outside the castle walls;beautiful city sitted by Lake Pamvotis and Zagory mountains and villages in countryside.For these reasons it worth pay a visit and stay in Kastro Guesthouse but above all are the great hospitality of the familal stuff. They are very nice and kind and ready to help their guests as needed. It was very nice to be in Ioannina, inside the castle, the sea was near with beauty pubs near the lake of ioannina, the hotel is situated inside the old castle and the design of rooms is very interesting. Comfort, clean rooms, delicious breakfast, nice people : these are things that make me to think about a possible return in Hotel Castro and Ioannina too. Hotel is right in the castle so perfectly positioned for sightseeing, boats to the island and many shops and restaurants. Parking easy right outside the hotel and very quiet at night. We were within the castle walls, in the citadel. We received a permit for free parking next to our very nice questhouse. The rooms on the first floor are bigger than the ground floor.
