We found ourselves in Rhodes for business so we wanted something outside town.
Lyristis was ideal, as we read nice comments and it was cheap as it was out of season.
Perfect room, as needed with sat Tv, safebox, big balcony for having breakfast and dinner out.
We stayed only 2 nights, although they clean up the room in the morning and change towel

There is free wi-fi, nice pool, air-conditioning, minimarket on the spot, small kitchen spaces (so you can make breakfast easily).
The localization of the hotel is perfect: it is 5 minutes' walk from the beach and restaurants/shops but at the same time far enough from the noise coming from many night clubs. There is silence for sleeping :)

You don't really need a car because there is a little shuttle bus, but it's easier to get to your room, and also in general to explore Rhodes... We stayed abt 2 weeks second half of may 2013 in Matina Hotel. The staff was very professional and helpful and always welcoming you with a smile. The cleaning was excellent, the towels were changed everyday. 12 points to the cleaning lady!
