We were welcome very friendly and they offer us Ouzo. Great.The breakfast was very good, different kind of bread and a lot of choice in meat, cheese and jam.. At the day were leaving the owner had to go early to Koblenz. They say we couldt stay as ;omg as we will and when were leaving the hotel we can put the keys in the mail box. Just great. When we are for vacation in this area we will come back to Hotel Athen. all reviews »
Great location and fantastic value for money! Very nice family-run hotel/restaurant with spacious, modern rooms. Delicious Greek restaurant as well. Quiet little town, so close to Burg Eltz! Owners loaned us an English language "history of Burg Eltz" book that was very interesting. They do have parking available (and free!) but you need to email to let them know.
This was not really a problem for us, but other people might find it an issue: Anglophones need pack a German phrasebook. Owners are very friendly and accommodating but did not speak English (or French).
