The room was nicely furnished and had a small working desk that suited my purposes perfectly - and often is lacking. Somehow I liked the architecture very much; one of the best rooms I've stayed lately. The location of the hotel is very good. The metro station is just in front of it and it takes two stops to get to main train station. Also, in about 25 minutes you can get to city center by foot.all reviews »
Reasonable price, quiet and peaceful surroundings, easy access to nearby pubs and eatery. Not too far away from the Essen Main train station. The staff was helpful as well. Location of the hotel is good, very near to underground and tram station. So it was very convenient to move about in the city from this hotel.I arrived early and asked to leave my luggage but was told I could go up to the room already which was convenient (however, the receptionist did not seem worried whether the room had been cleaned or not). However, for the price, I can't really complain. Easy to find.As a non-smoker, I do not particularly like spaces where smoking has taken place recently. The bathroom could be a bit better. Also, the halls and stairways could be a bit cleaner. The room had good space but the toilet was a little bit cramp but acceptable. Main entrance of the hotel is closed early on weekends. Hotel provides separate key for side entrance to all guests. But visitors who want to meet hotel guests do not know how to enter the hotel. My visitors stood outside on the road and called me on my mobile phone.bathroom quality. The staff were very disinterested and when I had a shower, someone must have flushed a toilet somewhere cos the water came out boiling hot and burnt me. I spent most of the night with a cold wet towel over my torso.A bit too old building. Renovation needed.
