  Small, but lovely room. Staff nice and truly friendly. A really nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Excellent value for money. - I loved the buffet breakfast. The staff were very kind and friendly. They recommended a park to go running and the hotel is a short distance from a great running route.

  We were staying in xl Art room overlooking the River Rhine. It was well worth the money, as we booked well in advance. Tram stop very close, easy to reach Koelnmesse, shopping area/centre only 15 min. On foot. Room size was great, and clean. Added bonus: coffee maker (tablet). If you need a taxi to the airport, just walk towards the Chocolate Muse... what people say » um and across the road. Fare is approx 24-26 Euros to Cologne airport. - Most of the staff were very friendly&helpful. The room was superb, very spacious& the decor was very funky&modern, bed was lovely&comfortable.the location is great only a 5 min walk to the old town along the river with some great places to eat&enjoy a few drinks. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

  Loved the location of the hotel which is so close to the DOM Cathedral, the Rhine River (which extends to 4 countries) the city center with shops, pick up point for city tour and Cologne's tourist center. Restaurants abound in its vicinity. Hotel room was enormous ( we got upgraded), clean but styled in the 80's. It had a kitchenette, and 2 bedroo... what people say » ms ideal for families and long staying guests. Breakfast was truly satisfying. For those with heavy luggage, there is one flight of stairs to take you - The room was as advertised, clean with all required amenities. Breakfast was awesome with a wide choice of hot and cold food and beverages. Staff was really welcoming and helpful plus they offer you as much fruits as you want and one free bottle of water daily, which was really fantastic. The location is also just a 5 minute walk from the Dom and central station plus there is a metro station just in front of the hotel. Great experience and hotel!

The kitchen was very convenient - this was the feature that attract - There are so many excellent things about the Apartments, but it would be difficult not to mention first of all the location. It is 5 minutes from the station and the Cathedral. Normally that would sound warning bells as many hotels close to city centre stations are in seedy areas. This is not the case here; the neighbourhood is a pleasure to walk around and entirely safe. The staff are extremely friendly, efficient and helpful.   We were in Europe for 3 weeks, and stayed in 7 different hotels. We decided upon our return that Mercure Hotel wins our award for THE BEST hotel we stayed in, even with all the construction.
