The hotel is very close to the Hauptbahnhof which makes it wonderful for railers. The rooms were basic, but your just sleeping and showering there. The bathroom was a nice size as was the shower (im 6'1), and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was pleantiful and good, views from the room were terrific (right on the river) and they let us keep our guest cards for the day even after we checked out so we could finish our sight seeing, and then I just returned them later before we jumped on our t.
all reviews » The location is great, just across the train/bus station, so you will be thankful that you don't need to drag luggage up to the hills where most of the other hotels locate. The price (80 euro for a double room one night) is OK considering the taxi fare up to the hills saved. The room is very clean, bed is nice, though the rooms in annex building do not have elevators and shower/restroom a bit small yet very clean. The breakfast buffet is good. I loved the fresh mint leaves they provided for . A very warm and inviting atmosphere, we had a balcony that looked over the river up to the mountains, wow. A sauna and a beautiful indoor pool, the best variety breakfast we have experienced on our 3 months European trip. The staff were so friendly and helpful and a great restaurant and great value in the evenings. An Incredible experience and when arriving on the train you can see the hotel and it is only 3 minutes walk. As a frequent visitor to Berchtesgaden we chose this hotel primarily due to its location. It is within 2 minutes of the bus/train station and also right by the start of the walk to Königssee. The village is a 10 minute uphill walk away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a great location for Berchtesgaden being two minutes from the bus and train station and about ten minutes from the town centre. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially a young receptionist by the name of Laura who gave me some great tips and suggested an amazing traditional food restaurant. It had great views of the mountains and yet it was very close to the train station. The hotel itself was clean and rooms were suitable in size. Cross the main road in front of the train station and you will find it. Service: excellent. Breakfast is very good with a range of varieties. They also provided us a local transportation card with which we could travel free in this region. The only negative thing I could point out is that the drinks vending machine is near reception and the room keys for building "B" where our room was didn't let us through that door once reception closed. Nothing in particular. The sauna/pool has strange opening times. Wifi was not included. You had to pay for it and yet, the reception was very poor. Nothing. It was 37 Celsius when we were there, so that wasn't ideal, but other than that, Breakfast was AWESOME and the view grounds were amazing. room was a bit small. This is a personal preference but a lounge area would have been ideal. Or even open up the breakfast room for people to sit in. When you're out and about all day and you want somewhere to relax you don't always want to have to go to your room. Resevred a double room, but got a twin instead. The difference being that I was not able to sleep next to my wife. We were in separate beds, in opposite corners of the room! Also, in the mornings there was a lot of noise upstairs. I thought perhaps a bowling team was practicing there!. The hours for the spa need to be longer. Only open when the average tourist is out doing things. Internet did not work in our room. Bathrooms small, couldn,t stand in the shower, no lobby to relax in and restaurant closed for the 2 evenings we stayed there. Internet is not included as it was stated "FREE" on letsbookhotel.com. Sauna use is limited between 0700 and 1800. Internet didn't function for the first 2 days. the facilities can be further improved. One bad comment that I can make is that we were given only a small packet of shower gel for four nights, so we had to purchase to take a shower very starnge but it is true. Too large of a hotel for us... had a tour bus filled dining room:( Booked one room and it was nice (though not on the river as we had requested), but the other room was right off the dining/ entry area:( Staff were nice, but not really concerned that we were not happy with our room location... Restaurant hours. Food poisoning after eating the Trout. Very sick for about 8 hours at night. Local Doctor agreed it was probably food poisoning. I think it was probably a rare incident but I was the unlucky one. It is not in the town itself if that is where you want to be but a short walk. The noise from the road. 1. the bath room is quite small. 2. WiFi access is poor. there was no access signal in my room. we have to ask an access PIN everyday. paying for internet no English tv selections. loved it all. no free internet. The checkout time is after 7 a.m., not so convenient if there is an early train. room: a little bit small.
