The view is fantastic. There is a bus stop with -in 50 meters to Monte carlo and with-in 20 meters to nice. Nice is 10 minutes on a #100 bus-1 Euro and Monte Carlo is 15 minutes on #100 bus -1 Euro. We chose this place as it had free car parking and transport options and the reviews. Look if you want all the bling pay 100 Euro more and stay elsewhere. It is clean, comfortable, The view fantastic. About a 10-15 minute walk downhill toward Monaco is a restaurant called-There is a difference. 3 co.
all reviews » This hotel has a classic 1970's feel about it. Le Corbusier meets James Bond. Although some of the furnishings are slightly tired, I wouldn't want to change a thing! This hotel is all about the view. Fabulous views from the room, the bar, restaurant and pool. The staff share a laid back family run atmosphere with a twinkle in their eye. They have a real giggle with you if you can grasp a little French. The whole of Villefranche sur Mer has a 1970's feel about it, and this is what makes it speci. The hotel was above my expectations. We had a corner room on the highest floor with a splendid view. The room was diveded with a glass wall only (without any door) into a bedroom and a bathroom which I personally liked as you could enjoy the view while showering! The bed was nice with one big quilt instead of two separate ones. And the pool area with great warm water, olive trees and no one around!. Amazing just amazing panoramic view!!!! The rooms had large balconies and panoramic views. The lounge and bar were open round the clock, as was the desk. We could easily walk to all the restaurants in Villefrance-sur-Mer. There was lots of parking. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were helpful There were some noisy guests which disturbed our sleep but the management gave us a discount on our bill to compensate Location is very good in terms of proximity tom town. More beautiful view with good value of money. If you are not looking for a lucxury and staying just 2-3 nights it's a good choose. Breakfast was poor. Dinner was more than I expected. Entrance is very small and difficult to negotiate with a full sized car. The restaurant has a great view but the service is very slow. The rooms are very basic but very clean. Fridge in the room would be nice. Nothing. Information about travel was hard to access. There was a strike on the railways on one day but there was no notification on the desk so we wasted a lot of the day trying to get on bus/trains. If we had known about the strike we would have planned our short day differently. Generally information about train and bus travel was not very helpful - especially the local bus 81 - a map of the route would have been helpful. The noise, the doors were always slamming shut and the walls are very thin with not alot of sound bearier. You could hear other people talking and their tv and such. Better service. nothing really, apart from my husband lost a cuff link ( white gold & onynx) we wondered if it had fallen off in the room (222). If someone has found it we can arrange to have it posted, it is of great sentimental value. Thank you. Bedroom was basic but spotlessly clean. The Bar had a very limited wine list - we asked for a glass of Sauvignon and Chardonnay and this could not be provided we were offered Alsace. We found the wine to be expensive not just in Hotel Le Versailles but generally in Villefranche Sur Mer where it could be purchased in the local shops very cheaply. The Taxi from Nice Airport was €65 for a ten mile journey!. Beds a bit hard for me. Age of rooms,soundproofing . if i had to say anything negative it would be that the breakfast was pricey for what you received. Breakfast was not included, expensive food. the bathroom is very easy designed and repaired. Service at the bar in late afternoon was poor, rooms not soundproof especially those on Level 1 below the lobby level with footsteps very audible. If you get a room on Level 1 ask for it to be away from the lobby area. About a 20 minute walk, all uphill from the station and 10/15 minutes down to the sea , so it is a little bit out on a limb. Having said that it was good for walking off dinner. Corridors leading to the rooms. Door to the balcony did not close. Maybe 4 euros for a bottle of mineral water is a little bit high. The staff were not very friendly or helpful and the restaurant and bar were very expensive. The room was in a state of disrepair, the breakfast was incredibly expensive for what was provided, and the hotel did not provide soap or wash clothes in the rooms. We were trying to understand whether our credit card blocked amount cancelled or not, the lady who owner of the hotel treated us like we dont want to pay. She was rude and I didn't like the was she is talking to her customers. Carpets on the hall was wet and smelly. Plastic and unconfortable chairs at the bancony. Balconies were very close to each other. Rooms are "cold" with no decoration No shower curtain, glass door in bathroom Breakfast not incl. in room rate Breakfast area. Lady couldn't find the red wine at bar.Very expensive breakfast for what it is.Lack of hot foods.Painted bath,hot water took too long to reach taps.No free wifi in rooms.loose fittings,tired hotel with paint job.Balcony flooded as the drainage leaked,in many areas.Noises when it rains inside room due to nearby drip or pipe. Basic accommodation at high cost of $330 per night for triple room. Meals also too expensive. Building is somewhat dated and needs upgrading. Room very small and with cockroaches. Very unpleasant ! needless to say.
