  We chose this location to take day trips from in the Dordogne region. While the city of Souillac has been hit hard by the recession, this lends to an excellent value in this amazing hotel. The building is from around the 12th century but has been updated and maintained meticulously. It's right in the centre of old Souillac just minutes from the motorway which makes it my favourite stopping place on the way south. I love waking to find the weekly market setting up - one of the best markets anywhere in France.

Would definitely stay there again (please). - Have stayed many times - if you just want a clean, attractive room, a good pool and a really convenient location then this hotel is great.

  You couldn't hope to find a better, nicer place than this! Le Prieure is situated on the other side of the river Dordogne in a tiny hamlet.
