Excellent location: you cannot wish for a more authentic setting when looking for a hotel with historical connections!. Clean, staff helpful and polite great surroundings. location, quiet, comfort, food... The hotel is located in a castell and it will take you back in time. Recomend a tour around the castell.The atmosphere - its shere size, good sign posting from outside thevillage made location easy.

Very nice dinner two nights but breakfast buffet was set out in an anteroom that was too small for comfortable presentation. Perhaps one could set out some items in the main dining room. Excellent price (at least, during winter time).the surroundings, the food and the friendlyness of staff. the castle and the atmosphere. staying in an old castle and fantastic rates. The fort itself is a great place to visit and is right in the middle of the town so walking is not a problem. The room was nice and the suites come with private access to the ramparts. We needed better internet directions for reaching the hotel. Autoroute signage is too small to be read quickly and place name of exit to hotel does not actually reference "Sedan." We knew not to exit at city center of Sedan, but had to backtrack to get the right exit.Beware of the 6th floor: the lift does not go straight there, you willhave to lift your luggage to one floor by yourself. And all family roomsare on this floor. nothing. restaurant was closed on sunday. because it is an old castle the windows in a standard room are very small and (at least on my floor) were down at floor level so you had to bend over to look out them.We were disappointed with the bar service and the high prices. White waswine came from a box and the glass of red wine tasted more like vinegarand was returned. The bar area was nicely laid out but was spoilt by acheap tv that was permanently switched on even when no one was there. Itdid nothing for the ambience of the area and should be removed. The restaurant.The breakfast was the worst we've had during our stay in be. The eggswere cold, the bacon cold... Menu in the restorant. Receptionist was quite surly, manager very helpful. Breakfast was a little dissappointing for the class of hotel. unable to book a table in the hotel restaurant. Limited facilities in room (e.g. no coffe/tea-making facilities). It was a surprise to discover the stairs to climb beyond the elevator to reach our room. Hotel did not seem well organised to support the large group who were staying at same time - especially at breakfast time. expected a room with a view or terrace but our upgraded room was in a corner and all we could see was a part of the parking area. The restaurant was far to serious with too much pomp and ceramoney. I like the French flair for presentation but our main course took two hours (during which we were served two very small starters each) then our cheese and dessert followed about 5 minutes apart after the main. The restaurant closes at 10pm and by this time it was 9.45. Much better on the second night though, it has to be said. The Receptionist was unfriendly to the point of rudeness, she did not make us feel welcome at all and when we tried to book a table in the restaurant we were told there was no chance. When we went down for breakfast at 9.00am there was not much left and no attempt was made to replenish. The shower in the bathroom was fitted too low on the wall, which is ok if you're under 5' tall.

With its regional and creative cuisine, the gastronomic restaurant, La Tour d’Auvergne, offers both business lunches and romantic dinners.
From mid-April to the end of September, a terrace is available for alfresco dining.
Listed in the Michelin, Champérard and Bottin Gourmand Guides, the restaurant is open from 12:00 to 13:30 and 19:00 to 21:30. It is closed on Sunday nights and Mondays for lunch.

Important information to guests

The restaurant is open every evening from 19:00 to 21:30 and every Sunday lunchtime from 12:30 to 13:30, except during July and August. The Bistro' is open from Monday to Saturday during lunchtime, during Saturday evening and during Sunday lunchtime in July and August.
