Staying at La Bonne Amie was the most pleasant surprise that we have ever encountered while traveling in France over the past thirty years! The over-the-top friendly, entertaining host we had in Steve made for a relaxed atmosphere while the beauty and intimacy of the boat's decor and surroundings made for the best casual vacation one can ask for! all reviews » The peace of sleeping in the countryside on a barge on the Seine with swans gliding by, excellent hosts including a lovely friendly dog, a hearty breakfast (we wished we had taken advantage of the evening meal option, although there are restaurants nearby on the river bank) , drinks in the evening onboard in the balmy early October weather, and the fantastic unpretentious village of Samois-sur-Seine where everyone plays music like its most famous past resident - Django Reinhardt. Nearby is Font. Steve the owner is a most helpful person, and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my car while I was there and he went out of his way to take care of us and solve our problems: really a first rate welcome, and attention to our comfort and well being. Unique location with every attention to detail-gourmet dinner, peaceful float, elegant rooms with king size comfort and pure luxury linens, awakened to the view of swans floating lazily by in the morning mist-not to be missed as a superb place to stay. The room was spacious, very clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with lovely big towels. The lounge and outdoor area was elegant and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Very pleasant hotel, very family. Located on the river. Perfect for couple who are looking for romantic place.
