This was just a beautiful stop. The hotel is run by a family who has completely built it up since 1982. It shows as a labor of love. The room was clean, comfortable and appointed in country furniture. They have their own dining room where we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast. In a country setting, it was relaxing and a short distance from Rocomandour. The welcome from the owners family owned were very helpful and friendly madame carried our luggage up to the room for us too. The restaurant was very good and open on a Sunday Evening. We will go back and take our family. The hotel is in a very beautiful setting built in white stone architecture of the region.
all reviews » In the most idyllic rural location. Very peaceful and quiet. We stayed last year and liked it so much we booked again. It is lovingly restored very old building, full og character. It also has a lovely swimming pool. We dined under the ancient yew tree in the garden, the food was outstanding. Highly recommend. Secure country location but walkable into Rocamadour (20 mins). Good resto at the hotel - on the expensive side but well executed dishes. Having seen the location of other hotels, this is definitely the place to stay unless you like non-stop crowds of tourists and your car being scraped. Free WiFi. Cannot fault this Hotel. That we could only stay one night!. It's a longish walk to the town if you wish to eat and drink there. (Don't drink and drive!). Only had a hand shower over the bath. Rooms were a little on the small side. But that is to be accounted for by the historic nature of the building. It was very good. Absolutely nothing, but just be aware it is out of the town, so caution is needed if walking on roads. Absolutely nothing to complain about nor improve!. Beds are good quality but too short and uncomfortable if you are tall > 5'10" (177cm approx)!. The food at the restaurant had a good presantation but that's all. nothing. The flies - it was a nice day when we arrived so I left my poolside room door open to try to air the musty smell from the room (that never quite went away). Next time I checked there were around 50-100 flies in the room. I asked monsieur if he had a fly spray I could borrow. "Ah, you left your door open". He promptly arrived with a vacuum cleaner and got rid of the lot without a shred of rancour - good service. Poor pillows. Minimal toiletries (nail file and soap only) no shampoo. Noise from adjacent room.
