We initially planned to break our journey home from the south of France in Paris but after a little consideration decided that it would provide an excellent opportunity for a visit to Monet’s garden at Giverny. We selected Les Jardins du Val because of the excellent reviews on letsbookhotel.com and we were not disappointed. The attractive house is set in beautiful gardens down a quiet road in the village. all reviews » The hotel is wonderful and I highly recommend it to everyone. It is located in a small village in an old house. There're only 3 or 4 rooms. Our room had its own entrance from the garden and the bathroom had windows to the garden - it was awesome.The host was more than kind. He helped us plan our further journey, suggested how to visit Monet house in Giverny when it is least crowded and gave lots of other useful advices about travelling in Normandy. The breakfast was included in price, though it. Well situated to visit Monet's Garden in Giverny & other interesting places nearby & plenty of room to park your car. The room was spotless, (albeit a bit small) and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good & plentiful. Our host, Stephen was a wealth of information for places to see, not only in the immediate area but all over Normandie, thank you Stephen for the recommendations to visit Honfleur and the Village of the Bells, we loved both of those p. Beautiful B&B set in lovely gardens in a really peaceful location. Ideally situated for a visit to Monet's garden at Giverny, made all the better thanks to the knowledge of our wonderful host Stephane who talked us through how to tackle the visit to get the most out of it, advice that was spot on. Only had the one night here this time, but won't hesitate to book a return visit next year to explore more of the area. Rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast plentiful and delicio. We had an absolutely fantastic time! The owner spoke excellent English, and was a real sweetheart. He made us reservations for an amazing restaurant in Vernon, nearby, which we loved, and then helped us plan out the best way to see Monet's gardens at Giverny. Then we came back and just enjoyed being in the beautiful gardens. This place really is as pretty as advertised. *Wifi worked well *The breakfast was amazing (croissants, pain au chocolate, cereal, fruit, juice, yogurt, etc., etc,.). Very nice place well situated for a visit to Giverny without being in the "touristy" area. Good secure parking, breakfast fine, setting tranquil. Most of all, we appreciated the time our host spent telling us the attractions in the area and en route to our future destinations, and in particular the dinner reservation he made for us in Gisny, close by, which was one of the best meals we've had in France, and certainly best value for the money. Would not hesitate to recommend. We loved our stay at this hotel. It is very comfortably located close to Giverny; the rooms were very clean and comfortable for a family with two children; we loved the beautiful park, and most of all, we enjoyed the friendly, kind attitude of the owner of the palce who gave us advice on different issues as well as a lot of practical information; it was just invaluable and you couldn't find it in any tourist information office. This is a fantastic place to stay. The owner is most knowledgeable and helpful as to the other attractions in the area other than Monet's Gardens. We stayed three nights and others who stayed for one night missed out on many local attractions. We cannot praise the food and accommodation enough. However, the personality, local knowledge and manner of the owner is exceptional and made this place the highlight of our holiday. A peaceful, beautifully located B&B ideally situated for visits to Monets gardens and the lovely countryside along the river Seine.. Thje charming host- Stephane- is a wealth of knowledge of local attractions and recommended excellent restaurants and tips for visiting Giverny. A car is a must!. What an amazing experience! The house and grounds were absolutely beautiful! The owner was very friendly and showed us around the property and his 500 year old family home next door. It was just an hour from the Orly airport but it felt like pure French country heaven. We ate at a near by place suggested by Stefon. It was fantastic! Breakfast was simple but all we needed. Les Jardins du Val was an amazing bed and breakfast chateau outside of Giverny. The owner is a perfectionist and made our stay absolutely delightful. I would definitely go back a second time and stay longer to truly enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of this place. We loved being welcomed by a friendly informative host. His information regarding Monet's garden was invaluable and we enjoyed eating in the traditional restaurant that he recommended which was only a short stroll from the cottage. The garden setting was beautiful. This is a jewel of a place to stay. Although we were only doing an overnight stay this time, we will certainly return for longer stay another time. It is a beautiful place in the country side. Not too easy to find. The owner looks after his guests in an extraordinary way. The park looked great in winter imagine in summer..... The B&B is a collection of charming old buildings. The innkeeper was wonderfully helpful telling us how to beat the crowds at Giverny and suggesting other sites and restaurants. Stefan and Sylvie welcomed us warmly and were such a great resource of information. It was lovely that Stefan spoke very good English. Everything was just delightful. Location is good only for driving people, cause its far from the city. The house is nice and beauful, and breakfast is good. Only the room is a little bit small. No blind at bathroom window so no privacy when light was switched on. Nothing. If you don't have a car, it'd be a little difficult to get here. Could have done with some water in the bedroom as woke up thirsty x. lack of TV reduced options for weather forecasts, though French TV otherwise is no great loss. The room was a little basic (supposedly their best) for the cost. Nothing to dislike. Plug-in room scenters. The directions to locate this place need to be improved - such as where the entry is off the main road, and approximate distance off the road. no kettle/tea making strange pillows. That we had to leave for home. - We thought it was a hotel. It is a B&B. - Hard to find. Way up narrow lane that the GPS didn't find as marked no entry, but is the only way in. - Very small room on first floor. - No tea or coffee making facilities and nothing was offered when we arrived. - No entrance until 5pm.
