Big thanks to Jean-François and his staff for their welcome. Extremely helpful and excellent English + other languages! Great value for money Sleeping room and the bathroom clean. Amosphere ' Vieux Paris' with flower paper wall. In heart of the Action with lot's of trendy pubs and nice affordable restaurants. Very central.Short walking distance from le Marais, Rue Rivoli and Notre Dame. good location, friendly staff, good price, clean room; shops, party places and bars nearby.
all reviews » The central location of the hotel in " Bastile" and near its train station were the excellent part of the hotel. It was little expensive compared to other hotels ( if one can book other chain hotel in advance), But generally the friendliness of day time staff was excellent. Receptionists are really friendly.Location. It's very centrally placed - close to a metro station served by three different lines: an ideal base for exploring Paris. It won't suit anybody who's looking for luxury, but is more than adequate if you're in the city primarily to see as much of the place as you can. It suited me perfectly.convenient and as expected. It was pleasantly quiet. The room was a bit tatty, e.g. bathroom had cracked tiles and some mould but was still very clean. The price and location were good and we found it very comfortable and good value.changed our room without question. We were put on fifth floor at first, and as we are both pensioners and there was no lift, they kindly moved us to 2nd floor, and this room was much better. Shower facility and only one usable powerpoints. No lift. The shower was terrible - hardly any water. the staircase is very difficult, and I did not spot this information when booking. I use crutches and getting 3 floors up a very small winding staircase was challenging. no plug sockets in room. wall paper an general decore. bit worn out. No hot water for bathing in the morning.Lack of lift to the 5th floor. The building construction is really old, and the interiors hasn’t got any renovation long time. Very noisy day and night: crowd, busy street and “paper made” walls. Small rooms with short beds. TV does not work properly.There are lots of restaurants around the hotel and loud noises from restaurant patrons and traffic for the whole night. The hotel is most suitable for young travellers. The bathroom was not always cleaned properly an the day-covers on the beds were filthy. Same goes for the floor (would not walk there bare-footed). The hotel is located in a small road, which is quite noisy during the night (many cars, doors slamming, people shouting,...). The staff at the reception sometimes did not even bother to look up or reply our greetings.I could only access the room at 6 pm (or go to another hotel, outside the centre). Very bad!. Maybe I wasn't lucky with my room, but it didn't seem very clean when i arrived : the bed had a dirty top cover, the sink was clogged and the room smelled like if hadn't been aerated for a while. Things went better when i asked staff to do something about it and it finished better then they had started :-). Unfortunately, our room was infested with bed bugs. My daughters and I received a number of bites. Although our room was changed, no discount was offered. I did request one but staff appeared not to understand my request. The room we booked was not avaliable upon arrival. The rooms we were then given were five flights up a rickety staircase!. old and dirty. The friendliness of the staff on the reception was an issue. They were not very helpful or friendly and at times extremely rude. Also, there was no hot water on one of the mornings of our stay, while on the first day of our stay a cleaner walked into our room and removed a towel without giving us any warning that she was coming in!. 1. rooms were very small, too small! I saw some pictures on the website during reservation, and they were bigger(probably only few rooms in the hotel were big enough) 2. There was a leak from the ceiling (so we had to change the room). Poor conservation of the building, awful bed, bathroom needsrestoration! (Sink blocked, toilet leaking). No power outlets in theroom but the tv one (need a stair to reach, and no tv wile using it...). carpets and hallways very dirty. The floor to our room had a dip in the middle...it left us with a very insecure feeling about the floor actually falling through. The bath towels had hair from previous users. The door handles were broken. Overall the room was tiny, dirty and very old.It was dirty, it smelt damp, and the room was too small.
