Really nicley presented air conditioned hotel that's excellent value for money and in the perfect location for a visit to Nice. It's in a pretty courtyard just off the Promenade des Anglais opposite a really good local super market and close to bars and restaurants only 15 minutes walk to the old town and very near various useful bus routes to places like the fabulous Marc Chagall museum. The breakfast is good and, yes, the lift is tiny but you can fit two people in or one person with luggage s.
all reviews » Location was very good for us for the little amount of shopping we needed to do in Nice. The Intermarche across the road for snacks and drinks could not be better (shame they don't have chilled beer). The closeness to the beach was also an asset after our exercise/swim in the morning. Staff were exceedingly friendly, and parking very safe. A/c worked very well in room 36, and nice view of beach if only a glimpse. Bed was very comfy. Just a shame no tea making facilities in the room but that see. I and my wife stayed for 1 night in this hotel during our car trip from Paris to Nice. We stayed at 6 hotels. Late check-in, very friendly and professional staff, the rooms are clean. Excellent location, renewed hotel. We could't check the breakfast, because of early leaving, but suppose it's more then ok for only 12 Euro! (It's a Black and White compare to "luxury" 4 star's hotel "RENOIR" in cannes where service was not poor but really bad, and which has 8,5 score from letsbookhotel.com!!!!!. The interior of the hotel is very modern.It is indeed only 50 steps from the seaside. The beds were very good and also the bathroom was modern (glass doors for shower) . With the rooms closed, the noise from the street is very low (we were at 3rd floor) and airco works good. People from the reception were very nice and friendly. You can get a good breakfast with yoghurt and cruesli etc. for eur 12 p.p. which is very OK. It all is nice and quiet even in a big city like Nice. Second stay in the hotel, is always a pleasure.Quiet, short distance to beach, old town, bus station. Large supermarket across the street, boulangerie around the corner).Staff very friendly and helpful.I recommend a room with balcony in a upper floor. Smallest elevator on earth, always fun :-). Having spent a lot of time in hotels in London and Barcelona never booking less than four star I could not believe how large the room was I loved the decor staff were absolutely rating in at 10 room was pristine every day better than many four star I have stayed previously. Very clear & cosy hotel with a slight touch of stile. Perfectly located just a few blocks from Promenade de Angles, Hotel Negresco, etc., & about 15-20min from the old town. Daily bedclothes change! All receptionists are quite fluent in English & very friendly. This was the perfect location for my trip. I could walk to the city centre or the beach in just a few minutes. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Great place to be at any time of year. Nicely designed, the room was small but adequate for a night or so. Great hotel, so close to the beach. We found the Wi-Fi a little bit unreliable in that it would not download some web pages like (if my memory serves me correctly) Eurosport app on my iPad. Ok for gmail. Taxi from airport to hotel was eur 38 for only 8 km. But later we found out , that there is a bus 98 that leaves from the airport and stops at Promenade des Anglais and almost at the beginning of Rue St Philippe where hotel is located.Departure back to airport is even at the corner of Rue St Philippe itself.. nothing. I hate even adding a negative having loved the hotel so much but there wasn a fridge for water which in summer would be nightmare for me that would affect me bookin it for summer Months. We were staying with my 70 yr. old mother; And they've lost my mother's room key at the reception, although were very polite & put efforts to find it (unsuccessfully). So she was bothering about leaving the door opened when she is not inn. Fortunately, it was our last night there, so wasn't such a critical deal. The car park is expensive if you are just staying overnight, the parking is free on the street. But the price us not too bad if you intend staying all morning. Bathroom a little too small but manageable. We had an overgrown fruit tree outside our balcony which blocked some of our street view. The table in the room was too small, and the white plastic chair did not fit with the rest of the decoration. The only negative point is the bad isolation of the room,you can hear everything nextdoor,pity. It did not include breakfast. The signage is not clearly visible on the main street. The view from the balcony is not that special (overlooking the parking lot). The soo called "garden area" is also placed on the parking lot, so not a quit/cozy place. But this is not a big problem as there are many nice areas nearby. Although there is no minibar nor tea making facilities, this is clearly stated so nothing to complain. The single room I had had lots of problems, telephone didn't work, cupboard would not open, which the hotel tried to fix. Lack of tea making facilities a pain. No bar in hotel disappointing. Shower tiny, could hardly get in. The bedroom lacked any form of athmosphere.The wooden floor squeeked.You could clearly hear the t.v. next door. Room was nice, but small. Would have like a mini-bar/fridge. Other than that, it was fine. a littlle bit lazy wifi. Noisy at night due to supermarket trucks loading/unloading stock. No bar fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. Small cafe for breakfast options that was easily overwhelmed with guests coming down for breakfast / small elevator but can't be helped due to regulations. Liked all aspects of the hotel. Bad sound insulation, extremely small lavatory. No fridge/ minibar. very small lift could not even take a couple with a suitcase vey late checkin time at 3pm half the day is gone after a long flight you just wait for the room to b available no luggage storage room: its placed at your own risk in the witing lounge luggage should at least be tagged and checked before anyone takes it out u r afraid to leave it there. No DND cards (housekeeping entered our room several times). Lift was very small. No kettle or tea making facilities in the room. Nothing. everything was ok, no disadvantages. All good, nothing bad. Breakfast was good, but towards the end of our stay the number of guests decreased and there seemed to be less effort put into its preparation. In particular the coffee became quite undrinkable. Small room. Small elevator. Can't think of anything. The colors of gray, black and white are not my favorite, found the decor to be dreary and worn. Had trouble sending emails. A bit far away from the Old City but we enjoyed the walk anyway. The breakfast was very basic but still delicious!. Nothing. Really nothing. The wifi was poor in the rooms and I had to keep updating it regularly, there was a lot of street noise esp in the early hours of the morning, the rooms were small, slightly cramped. Room a bit small with an awkward door. Shower attachment in the wrong place so the bath/shower a bit awkward. Don't catch a taxi from the train station, $15 euro for 5 mins.
