Being fair the only thing I can say that was good was its location. It has the potential of being a great hotel but the lack of maintenance and small rooms means this Hotel is not a 4 star. There was a lot of noise from the street, especially after Turkey won their quarter final.New bathrooms - shower was a nightmare. I did comment directly to hotel. a (washable) quilt with cover should replace the blanket and aging bedspread. Major external refurbishment, which we feel we should have been made aware of, particularly as the cost was high. Dirty shower curtain.nothing to criticise. no hall porter service offered to us when checking in, although there was three people at the receiption desk. nor was the service to collect the bags offered to us when leaving. a/c did not function.Impossible to find following printed map information which could not possibly depict the millions of posts all around a city of pedestrian areas one way streets and dead ends. eventually we discovered that the hotel was being refurbished on the outside, was completely covered in protective sheeting. The hotel entrance was concealed and not signposted at street level. Ordered wake-up call but never arrived. no information about internet tariffs in hotel room or about any other facilities, no writing paper or stationery.Could do with a tidy up and redecoration. Building being worked on by builders and scaffolding blocking our windowview plus workmen noise in morning. We were not informed of the noisewhen booking.No tea/coffee facilities in room. Sheets and blankets on bed, not duvets.Rooms could do with updating - looking a bit jaded. Lot of building work on exterior of building made it difficult to identify.bad service, bath etc. We were not told about the refurbishment that was currently taking place. The hotel was surrounded by scaffolding and plastic sheeting blocking any view from the window. Also, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Basics like this I would expect from a 4* hotel.Wasn't aware it was under refurbishment. No view from the room and a very poor first impression on arriving as the entire outside of the hotel was covered in scaffolding and plastic sheeting!. Our room was on the top floor. It was unbearably hot. The air conditioning was broken but we could not open the window because of the noise. The attitude of the hotel was that it couldn't care.Rooms very tired now, in need of updating. Chewing gum on carpet etc.Outside being renovated and consequently no view. Should have had adiscount during this time.I did not like the Beds, the room had paint peeling from the ceiling from a leak in the room above, the carpets where Tatty, the furniture in the room had the laminate peeling off (fridge cabinet). There was no kettle for hot drinks, The water release in the sink was broken, the lights did not work properly, The Air conditioning did not work, we where told to open the window which was not easy etc.
