The view over Lac du Bourget is superb. Old-style room decoration reinforces a feeling of being in a dream. The staff was very kind and helpful to us. And, above all, their restaurant Le Bateau Ivre (which was the reason of our choice) made our trip unforgettable. The stunning location overlooking the Lac du Bourget and the Alps. The gourmet food, although expensive, and the service. The ambience of an elegant hotel in a quiet and beautiful location...dining? superb. We will stay there again. Bathroom floor too slippery when wet (which is inevitable if shower is used). Nothing. The high cost of the food, although understandable given its quality, and the quite small range of dishes on the menu. Only having one night there en route. Swimming pool is difficult to access for people with reduced mobility. The room is a little bit tight. Getting down to the pool was hard work. Although the food in the restaurant was wonderful, there was a lack of vegetarian options. This meant using a la carte and still struggling This mad a limited meal for us very expensive. At my request because room was too small, we were upgraded to a superior room, but we were not informed of extra cost till time of checkout. The swimming pool should be totally operational by now. The mess in which we found the wc in there is just not admissable. Details like a lack of shower curtain in the room wc. The garden, beautiful, is lacking maintenance. The breakfast is at the same level of a place where we payed 50 euros per night in Roskoff...and costs 17 euros per person. The cost and style of a Michelin 2 star restaurant makes families walk to nearest restaurants every meal. Room too small, no tea/coffee facilities, shower leaked water all over bathroom.
