All staff delightful and helpful. Loved the setting and the fact that all the rooms faced the lake. We asked for a quiet room and we got one. Very comfortable room which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable and spacious. It was good to have a balcony as well. Free parking. Must also add that we arrived just after the restaurant officially closed after serving lunches but they did get us an omelette and chips and a much needed drink so that was appreciated.i would be very happy to go b.
all reviews » This is the second time we were there and we enjoyed our stay again. Staff is very friendly, the restaurant and breakfast very good. And the location; wonderful! The lake gives tranquility even in high season. We even saw a beaverfamily close to the terras..... We have stayed here several times and always had a friendly reception. The rooms are very comfortable with superb views over the lake. In the restaurant you are served very good food and wine by professional staff. The food is not cheap but very good value. Spacious room. Own patio. All rooms overlook the lake. Outdoor swimming pool. Location. Friendly staff & good restaurant & bar. Dog friendly. Very relaxing & comfortable. Close proximity to Laon. I would always prefer to have breakfast price included. Just a minor remark. No snacks available outside lunch and dinnertime . Nothing really. No air conditioning in our room. Ticked all our boxes. There was no "Do Not Disturb" notice, so we were duly disturbed by the housemaid in the morning. No air conditioning. The bath in room 108 is so complicated and a complete waste of time. The price of this Room attracts a premium because of this bath. Get rid of the stupid bath. we stayed on a Saturday night. they has a Moet&Chandon champagne promotion. Too few staff to cope with the number of residents. too busy to answer questions properly. 2 hours to serve a 2 course meal. Petulance when asked for "eau du robinet". General seating area sprouted reserved notices so we literally had no where to sit. Sat with a group in the end which generated "murmura grognet" . One member of Restaurant staff deliberately unfriendly/unprofessional. Feel like we got ripped off on price of dinner even though rooms were reasonable. Good as business hotel, bit too impersonal for a holiday. no charm. liked everything however there are opportunities to refurbish in areas that are starting to show wear and tear. Man at reception on Saturday evening who thinks customer service means sighing a lot and telling the client everything will be difficult... He almost single-handedly ruined the hotel for us. His colleagues need to keep an eye on him. The hard beds!. Pool cold even though it's advertised as heated. Rooms could do with refurbishment. Would prefer glass balcony to fully enjoy the view when seated. Slightly tired feel to furnishings - stains on bedroom carpet, etc. Overpriced restaurant. No vegetarian choice on menu, a very noisy juicer at breakfast. Bar selection was limited, unless you liked whiskey, must have had 20 single malts. nothing. No air conditioning in the room on the hottest night of the year. When complained was told we should have ordered it. Food average. Noisy first floor bedrooms above reception/bar. No problems. leaving. A bit impersonal. lack of bathrobe. A facility to visit Laon (courtesy bus) would add to the facilities of the hotel. We were careless due to a breakdown of our car. The food was not at all good and the food and particularly the beer and wine were grossly overpriced. The lady in the restaurant was not friendly. She was rude... . no air conditioning or fan available in the bedroom. Reception area is dated. Our room looked like it had been half decorated. Some of the furnishings were modern then the toilet/bathroom area/carpet all dated. Cobwebs in the room. Smelt damp. Definitely not worth nearly £100 a night.
