Visited in May by car. The reception staff was genuinely warm and helpful. Request a room with a view of Carcassonne. At night the fortress is bathed in soft light. Ignore the parking lot of the empty mall below and focus instead on the sunset to the right of the chateau. On our May night, the sky became more glorious every 10 minutes for a good half hour. Fantastic room, very clean, very large, peaceful and quiet and with excellent bed. Wonderful facilities and great restaurant. Great parking. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Tea and coffee facilities in room - exceptional quality. Modern hotel and great value for money!.
all reviews » It was quite luxurious for a budget hotel and the food in the restaurant was good. The staff were friendly and efficient. There is also a lift, which was helpful because I have a disability and had forgotten to ask for a ground floor room. We would definitely stay again. Proximity to la cite, and within easy travel (car) distance of Cathar historical sites, including Bucharach. Staff were friendly and helpful, even listening and responding to my pathetic attempts to speak french! A delightful stay. The staff were polite and attentive, helpful. The rooms were a bit small but everything worked and was very clean and looked new. Check in and checkout were efficient and the dinner we had was also enjoyable and tasty. A tad far from town but not too much of a problem with a car - too far to walk to town or to the medieval cite. We thought that breakfast was rather pricey but that would be the only criticism. We knew about location in bout of town shopping centre and more mature landscaping within hotel boundary will soften views. A fair walk to the City centre as the bus service is infrequent. If I was being picky the only thing was the immediate surroundings, ie. industrial estate and shopping centre, but it really was not that important as hotel grounds were attractive and well maintained. The elevator was broken when we're there. Luckily, our room is on a second floor. Inability to control room temperature. Situated on a business park Only one tea bag for two people. Nothing. maybe a little bit small rooms but as they are well organised you might no matter. No fridge in room or ice machine. Drinks in bar expensive. Nothing really. Shower didnt drain very well at all but mentioned this at reception upon checkout. Shower door allowed a lot of water on the floor. Far from city center but very good for transit. It was on the outskirts of the city. The wind! During our trip the weather was pretty awful unfortunately and the wind around the hotel was worse than other areas - I appreciate hotel has no control of this!!. Nothing. Not within walking distance of the centre of the city but not an issue as we had a car. We would have liked to be able to control our room temperature. The AC system had a mind of it's own!. A little bit out from La Cite and the new city. it cannot be better. In an industrial shopping zone. Elevator didn't work for the 3 days when we were there.
