My stay was an utter delight from arrival to departure. The staff were a joy to meet and interact with, and very helpful at all times. The bed was amazingly comfortable .... deliciously so, apparently hand-made in Sweden (I want one). The village location is quiet and very picturesque. The restaurant is lovely, relaxed breakfast on the terrace a perfect start to the day. A short taxi ride to Nice airport, I've previously used Chateau le Cagnard as a haven before the long flight to Australia and.
all reviews » 1-The Junior Suite's comfortable bed, pillow, and down comforter. 2-Hotel is in a fantastic medieval village that is still inhabited and sits atop a high hill (or small mountain) with a view of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. 3-Fabulous gourmet restaurant with Chef Stephan. Dinner is not to be missed! Try the goat cheese spread, and steak or chicken dinners. Never had a bad meal. 4-Walking through picturesque medieval village and taking pictures. 5-Very friendly and acco. It was the hotels first season and we were very impressed at the standard. The owner was a lovely young lady who has with her father restored this lovely building to a very high standard. The staff stayed up till midnight to guide us onto their premises and couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast was stunning with lots of locally sourced produce which is always lovely to see and checking out was quick but very personable. All in all a pleasant but unfortunately short stay. That was the best hotel of our stay in France. Amazing location, fantastic view at the sea, lovely room with great design. Tasty breakfasts. Helpful and friendly staff. I hope to return to this very beautiful part of the world and to this amazing hotel!!. The hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the sea so the views are great. The dining room is excellent: breakfasts on the terrace were beautiful-dinners outstanding albeit pricy. The old city around it is endlessly colorful. I almost don't want to submit this as I would like to keep this place as my secret getaway place. Fabulous and very friendly. Staff very helpful. We had a garden room and it was lovely. The food was very good. The room and bed were awesome. nice rooms, view. location. Bed very confortable. Clean. 1-There's a coffee machine in the room but the coffee and tea are not complimentary. 2-Difficulty in driving in the medieval village. Park below the village and pay for safe parking (there's a car lift that elevates your car to an indoor parking "pod." 3-Continental breakfast didn't include eggs but you could pay extra for them. 4-Breakfast coffee was tepid. I like it hot. We had a large car as we drove from England I wish we had read the small print as it gave my partner a mini heart attack as to how narrow the roads were!!. Everything was better than we expected. Perhaps a bit of choice at breakfast would have been nice, rather than everything brought at once. I don't really need meat and cheese at breakfast, or yogurt in fact, so it was wasted. I would have liked more choice of breads/ pastries. no other negatives. For a 250€-per-night room, it's so utterly ridiculous to ask 1€ per coffee capsule to use the espresso machine provided in the room it's almost insulting. It's also a bit weird that there's no convention for a parking spot: leaving your car at Le Planastel is very convenient, but also quite expensive. There was nothing I didn't like. The chateau was a little difficult to reach but we managed that fine. I would recommend contacting them for parking instructions. Something they did recommend when our reservation was booked but we neglected to do so. the hotel is on a cliff and roads to it are very narrow so a regular car can't get close to the hotel. (Small cars don't have that problem). Getting there by car NOT to be recommended! Park down below and call a taxi. The parking was difficult. can be difficult to find and the streets are very narrow, I would advise calling when you get close. it is outrages that a hotel in this category (and room prices of over 200 euros per night) offers a rather limited breakfast and than charges extra for standard breakfast items like omelets, etc. very surprising and disappointing. the parking around the hotel is very bad and if you travel by car it is a hassle to reach the hotel (with bags and suitcases). bed linen not changed during 4 day stay no prices for mini bar which resulted in our presuming that water was free v unpleasant odour in lift. Low value to my money 250euro for a little room without light. The breakfast is poor and the water is not included at breakfast (4euro!). Wi-fi does'nt work. Staff is not professional.

Use the Planastel car park located to the left of the hotel. Feel free to call the hotel when you arrive.
