  Very old building and the rooms were delightful albeit a little dark and were stuffy in the heat with no air con. Village is very pretty yet accessable from the motorway easily. Hotel is packed with an eclectic mix of antiques and has many period features feels like you are staying in a museum rather than a hotel especially with all the dark furni... what people say » ture and four poster beds. Creaky floors and artifacts could make it appear a little creepy! Stay up after dark and you can watch the bats emerge from - We just loved the atmosphere, like going back in time but with modern day comforts. Liked it so much we booked again for our return journey, it's just half way up for us from the Cote D'Azur when we take a trip back to England. They welcomed our dog, kept an address book I had left by mistake and it was lovely to be greeted and have the door held for us with a happy farewell when we left. A lovely place to stay in the winter with the log fires
