The best value for staying near Mont-St-Michel! Skip the hotels on the mount and those nearest to it which are filled with hordes of tour buses. A simple 1.5km (<15 min walk) from hotel to the parking lot for Mont-St-Michel where you can pick up the free trolley over to the mount. Old buildings that have been completely updated on the inside. Very nice! Meals in the restaurant were pretty good. There aren't many options in that area for food other than the hotels and the nearest town which i.
all reviews » The location is great. You can see Mont Sant Michel from the hotel! The hotel probably underwent renovations because the rooms are modern, new and nice! They also serve meals at their hotel which is a plus when you're at the country side where it's hard to find a restaurant or convenience store. The staff was nice enough to offer us another room (which I think is bigger) because our room was not ready yet. I would stay here again in a heart beat!. Excellent location. There's major construction at Mt. St. Michel right now, so the view from across the street of this hotel is better than the causeway to the island. The room is spacious and very clean (a miracle if you consider the all the sheep dropping outside the hotel). The wifi was fast and reliable. Parking is right outside the room or behind the building. It's only a 5 minute drive to the free shuttle parking. Clean, simple hotel very close to Mont St Michel, situated in small hamlet. Good restaurant (be sure to reserve your table in advance!). About 30 min walk from free shuttle bus to Mont St Michel, potentially saving substantial parking fees. 120 euros for room, breakfast and 3 course dinner for two with wine represented excellent value, especially so close to a major landmark. (October 2013). This hotel is very close to Le Mount Saint Michel - 2min. In the car to the parking lot, maybe 30min walking. We liked it very much. It was clean, updated, comfortable. We knew that we will arrived in the middle of the night and the key was left for us. The receptionists were very nice, English speaking and helpful. We ate only breakfast there and it was delicious. good sized bedroom and very clean and the restaurant was good quality. View of the bay and very close to Mount St Michel. Friendly staff explained parking set up for visiting the Mount and that after 19:00 we could drive much closer, park for free and pick up free shuttle over the causeway that runs till very late at night -great tip(visited in August). Location is perfect. We were really happy to see wonderful picture on Sunday morning - the flock of sheep were crossing the street. The room was very modern and clean. The food in the restaurant was extremely good. We didn't book a table in advance, but they managed to find a table for us for what we are very thankful. We had a very good stay there. Location, location, location! The Auberge de la Baie was about as close to Le Mont St. Michel as one could stay. There were beautiful views of this magnificent place right across the street. It was rural with cornfields and sheep grazing nearby. The attached café was open late for a snack upon arrival and had a nice breakfast the next morning. The hotel is very well situated and the rooms are simple but spacious and very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly. We had a problem with our car and they came to pick us up at the parking lot in front of Mont Saint Michel and offered to help us recharge the car battery. I'll definitely come back to this hotel. We had a few flies (no surprise as there are quite a bit of farm animals in the surrounding area) in our room that were annoying us. But after some stealthy door opening and swatting we managed to take care of them. We had some difficulty finding it because the address provided did not specify the lot number, instead just the street name. So were had to drive up and down the entire street to find it (which is apparently at the end of the street). Lots of tour buses. Sheep farm just across the street. Sheep is great for photos if you've never seen one before (sense the sarcasm), but they leave a trail of stinking terror just outside the hotel. Wi-Fi didn't work. no other facilities close by only. It was the only restaurant near and no village shop etc. although large tourist town a very short car journey away. But we were using it as a base to visit the Mount and for that it is great with great views and easy access. The heating in the room was working very strange, we were trying to dry the clothes, but unsuccessfully. The air conditioning was minimal, so there was a lot of traffic noise when we opened our windows. The internet service was terrible. We each had to go through an elaborate procedure to log on about every two minutes when the service would fail. I don't think my husband's iPhone ever did work there properly. Can't think any !. Nothing at all to complain about. The rooms were fairly small but very nicely furnished and perfectly adequate for a one night stopover. My Flat TV doesn't work but it's fine. Nothing. All good!. Wifi wasn't working. Room was a little stuffy. The only downside for the short layover was the thickness of the walls.We could hear everything from the other rooms, no privacy. Internet connection required frequent re-logging. Could have been a little cleaner, seemed to be a lot of flies In our room, maybe something to do with the sheep in nearby field. The entire area smells like a barn (nothing to do with this hotel) Not suitable if you don't have a car. REFUSE BREAKFAST. It's just not worth it. - twin beds instead of a double - the motion-sensor hall light - every time we had to get up to go to the bathroom during the middle of the night, the light would turn on and wake up the other person - it would have a perfect view of Mont Saint Michel but it is blocked by the one building across the road from it. My husband said his bed was so narrow and higher in the middle he fell off..we had two twins. They were narrow. Mine was fine. Sensor in the room entrance for the light not a good idea at night if you are not alone. Breakfast could be of better quality. They should provide shampoo and bath bars. Only stairs to second floor; better to have a tray in the shower area. Beds are small. It is no good if you stay in upper floor because carrying the luggage climb up the stairs. there was absolutely NOTHING I didn't like. Walls at a bit thin - you can hear your neighbours... nothing. Flys in room. No lift for luggage. Only single beds, twins beds. Disconnection of the wifi every 5 mn. No complaints. No staff working public holiday, lucky I had read note & sent email night prior & was given the access code to main door & to safe to get the room key. 2 nd email sent to clarify car parking. We found the dinner service to be rather slow, I do realise that most people weren't in a hurry, but we were tired from travelling, and wanted something to eat before going to sleep!. Nothing really!!. A little far from the shuttle-bus-station!. Wi-Fi horrible. Room 28 Paper thin walls, noisy neighbours. Inflexibilty of restaurant staff. Not at all accommodating.
