We, the married couple, not young people. Traveled to Europe. Always and everywhere only stayed in hotels. The first time staying in a hostel. Our son decided to dedicate our real travelers, we agreed to this experiment. Our first hostel with his light hand was Tabinoya - Tallinn's Travellers House. We arrived in the evening were very tired, the first impression was a shock ... on the type of building, the front door, a narrow winding staircase to the third floor (the building of ancient, natur.
all reviews » 1. The location. It is located in the center of historical city, right beneath the historical wall. Perfect point to start any sightseeing, perfect point to return to after long day of visits. 2. The Host. Taro was one of the most perfect hosts you could ever dream of. He provided us with all the information we needed, then topped it with local lore: we discovered certain things we would have never discovered without his help. We also asked for some of the small favors which he willingly helped. This is a kind of good b&b, clean, friendly and good location. We stayed here with a kid and it might be not so convenient for every family, but we coped. :-) Staff is really friendly and helpful, place is clean. Kitchen is available along with a fridge. I'd advise to stay here for economy solo trip or students and friends groups. Old city is around with Beer house or other restaurants. The staff are excellent - friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. Superb location, right inside the city walls. The whole place is spotlessly clean (and is still quite new - Apr 2013). Has a private sauna - we got a free hour for staying 4 nights! Breakfast (cereals, toast, tea & coffee) is included too. Quiet hostel, true to its name as a place to rest :o). I was able to check in early (at 12). I only spent a single night there, but it still was very comfortable and pleasant stay. It is a cosy place, they have Wi-Fi, a PC in common area and breakfast was included in the price (€14). Everything you need to see and do is in walking distance. You are less than 10 minutes away from the train station. The main square is less than a 2min walk. Perfect location. No complaints and would recommend. Good resturants, cafés, bars and shops near by. Amazing hostel, good location in the old town. Quiet atmosphere, cozy common room with free tea and coffee and even small billiards! They also offer sauna and sell some drinks from the reception. The staff was nice, the room was clean and cosy with a small fireplace (which is now like a decoration rather than real fireplace). We even enjoyed a simple breakfast. And the location of the hostel is just in 30-50 m from the Town Hall. This was a very clean hostel, offering a quiet location in the old town. The staff were very welcoming, and their advice about what to see and do, where to eat, and how to save money was invaluable. Would happily stay again, as would my teenage kids. Located in the heart of the old town, bedroom and common room are cozy, enough shower and toilet, staffs are sooooo nice and really helpful, not extreme party hostel so not too loud at night, but you can still meet new people. Taro cares a lot about his guests and gives great recommendations... Currently there are some minor renovations but it's already a gem among hostels - more for people needing a good night sleep than partying until 3AM. It is Ok as a hostel but not as a guesthouse for older people. 1. The floor. Not that it was a problem for me -- Taro willingly helped us with all the baggage, but just wanted to highlight that this is a 2nd floor. It could be quite chilly in winter, because windows are old. Hot water is ran out after many people take a shower one by one. Breakfast is quite simple but you have it.:-). Not a problem for us, but it's on the 2nd & 3rd floors, so lots of stairs!. You should bring your own towel (I had one with me). I also recommend to bring slippers because you are asked to wear them in the premises (I had them, too). Location in the old town, so it might not be easy to reach hostel with heavy luggage. Towels are not included but rent is only 1 EUR. Saturday night is noisy because of the drunk travellers outside which didn't bother me much, though. Small hotel logo, hard to see. Historical stairs. Nothing to dislike. The hot shower did not work once. Large people (above 1,9m) could get some problems since it is tiny, especially bath rooms. Nevertheless it worked great for us... Will definitely come back!! :-). No downside at all. If you are looking for a great spot, this is the one!. Nothing. There is only one toilet which wasn't a big problem for us but might be at a busier time? The stairs might be rough for someone with weak legs. (I survived them 25 weeks pregnant but probably wouldn't have a few weeks later.). Advise: the kitchen feels like a cozy home. Would be nice to have some more games to play in this area. This is just a recommend for the owner to add for a 10+. The only flaw in our opinion was the odor coming from the bathroom. Aside from this everything was like a million!. Might be a bit cold in winter, as windows are old. We asked for a heater, the problem was solved. None. Nothing at all. No black-out curtains in my room (number 2) so it was very hard to sleep since the window is right in front of a city light. Nothing much - everything was great but because it is at the centre of the old town, sometimes it could be slightly noisy at midnight because of drunk people. But it didnt bother us much, slept like a baby!. Only one toulet on the floor, but there is no room for it. The last set of stairs!!!!. small bathrooms,cold floor and creaking bed((((. stairs going up was steep, and high. not great if you have big luggages. Had to go up 2 floors but staff assisted us. The unpleasant smell upon entering the building. It smells like cat poo.... Other travellers were loud and left the bathroom dirty.
