I have to give a special mention to Marion the restaurant manager who went out of her way to help us after we were not happy with the reception staff who dealt with us when we arrived. We were going to move hotels but she went that extra mile. She gave us complementary breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. Apart from the man on the desk all the other staff were fabulous. The hotel is the best one for the Pyramids as it is only a 5 - 10 min walk and you can see them from the hotel grounds.
all reviews » This amazing place was perfectly located right next to the Great Pyramid in Giza. We were fortunate to have been upgraded to a suite which was totally awesome with heaps too much space for us (not that we were going to complain). Make sure you pay that extra for the pyramid view - well worth it. The pool was glorious and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The security at the gate was very reassuring and I was happy to put up with the small inconvenience. Absolutely perfect respite from Cairo. The proximity to the pyramids is impossible to beat. The service was impeccable and never seemed forced. The staff was brilliant and suffered my poor Arabic with good-natured smiles. (Their English is immaculate.) Tasty and reasonably priced room service. Very nice beds with lovely pillows. Beautiful grounds. The decor all seemed to be new and in very good shape. We were not prepared to travel far from the hotel because of the security concerns. Lack of more typical egyptian cuisine on their menu. - Airport pickup has to be arranged with 48 hours notice. The jungle while outside the hotel walls but has nothing to do with the hotel...Need to say that the Cairo jungle is amazing and worth to see. People are anyways always very nice. No possibility to have breakfast outside. Compared to our city hotel, Kempinski, this hotel was a bit outdated. The food was not really anything special. The guide from the hotel's travel agency was very good but extremely expensive, we paid 320USD for four hours, half a month's salary in Egypt. Being nickeled and dimed everywhere. The Cairo museum was ok....it could be outstanding. Absolutely nothing. Nothing to dislike!. None. Lovely gardens but no sitting areas and at pool bar no table and chairs i area beside bar so had to use a sunbed to sit on to drink my beverage. I didn't like to receive my car dusty like hell, after leaving it (3) nights in the parking. It is recommended to offer a free car wash service to be inclusive with the parking fees, it's only a bucket of water and some soap, it won't cost anything. Also I think that the parking fees should be inclusive with the room fees. (i.e. If I'm a hotel resident, why should I pay parking fees). Long distance to walk between reception/restaurant & room. Golf carts there but not offered when obviuosly needed. Some of the shops within the premises touting for business. Made me uncomfortable. no alcohol in the mini bar. Shower head. Distance to main building. traffic noise (horn). there was almost no guests apart from myself. that i was not picked up from the airport although i asked for by email. that some facilities are closed at the Moment due to lack of tourists. Food and drinks to expensive for the quality that remains very average. Internet is additional and more than 2 euro/minute or about 15 euro for 24 hours. This is very expensive. In 5 star hotel, one should expect wifi included. A little bit expensive. The rooms were tired and smelled. Check out was a problem as the card machine wouldn't work and I could not get my credit card back from the staff member even though we had a plane to catch. The Internet is dreadfully expensive. We had the hotel driver collect us from the airport, the car broke down and we waited on the roadside whilst it was repaired. He did not organise another driver for us. When we got to the hotel the first thing he said was "tip". Awful. Safe outside of the hotels has 2 tanks and the staf has a pistols but this I think is from the general situation in Egyp in this time.
