Best location for downtown Cairo, especially if you like the Egyptian museum. View is great over the museum and Tahrir square. If you want to see history unfolding before your eyes as well as being close to the treasures of Egypt this is THE place. Very friendly and helpfull staff. They wash your clothes cheap. Since people were out on the streets, we were a little bit scared but they took us to see tahir square and downtown area with a local!. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean...the bed was comfortable. It had the four C's for travel: cheap, clean, convenient and comfortable. It was easy to get around and had easy access to travel agents for tours etc. Hotel was very good, quality of breakfast and food provided was also very good. In addition to this, free internet facility made our stay more comfirtable. A good hotel you can lived in Cairo if you just have a tourist in Egypt. The location is 50 m next to Egypt meseum. Well located for Tahrir Square and Downtown, the hotel sits snugly on the 5th floor of an office block. Simple but comfortable rooms with little balconies overlooking dusty and chaotic streets below. Only thing not perfect was that the wifi didn't work at all times. But when it did it was good. The front entrance was dark and gloomy even though the staff had tried to make it inviting with plants and Egyptian-type pictures on the walls. Nothing! Would recommend the hotel to my friends. Hotel entrance does not reflect what you see inside. It can be improved. I was warned the area is a little dicey/dangerous, but had no problems and staff went out of their way to make sure I wouldn't to the best of their ability. When I booked my taxi, the taxi driver told me that they only payed him 50 pounds Egyptian, while I had paid the hotel $15 usd. I must confess to a mild feeling of house-arrest due to the supervised lift system and the over-enquiring staff - but to give benefit of any doubt, this could have been genuine concern for guests' safety due to the hotel's proximity to Tahrir Square and its ever-present inflammable mood.
