It was last minute booking,wonderful place designed in late 20's you can feel the history in its walls and doors, starting for the door man (Ali) to the friendly smily lobbey waitress ( Nour Al Houda) who will make you feel so welcom and relaxed, till (Sayed ) from room serviece, all staff is well trained and so helpful with any thing you might need, good communication comands you will see ar reception too ( Mariann & Mohamed) .. You also meet Mr. Ahmad Fathalla ass.gm at the lobbey checkin.

Le Metropole is a beautiful hotel in Alexandria, just off the corniche. The hotel provides a wonderful breakfast, extremely comfortable rooms, free turn-down service, and little extras like welcome drinks and snacks on arrival. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They will go out of their way to make sure you have any information and assistance you need. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. I liked everything. the staff was most friendly. you can't find friendlier staff in 5 stars hotels! the hotel is fabulous. they are sooo friendly I became friends with the hotel vice manager. they even helped me book a hotel in cairo for a cheaper rate! the vice manager him self called in favors. the hotel is very luxurious. the site is great. the rooms are fabulous, the view on the sea is gorgeous. food is great. Le Metropole is a nice/boutique hotel. For someone who is nostalgic to the Alexandria she knew some 35 years or so ago, it was a perfect choice. The staff are really friendly. The location was ideal for my business down town on Foad street as well as for a stroll on the corniche. I really loved their breakfast not so much for the variety of food which was not all that great but for the atmosphere. The Hotel was beautifully renovated, preserving the fine Original architecture of the Building that dates from early 20th Century. Staff very helpful and friendly, little details like fresh Juice on Arrival, Complementary Fruit basket and Sweets platter. i was even upgraded without asking. Absolutely recommended not only for quality of hotel, but also for location and view. We loved the friendliness of the staff, the classic style of the hotel itself, the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from our hotel room, the comfort of the beds and the location which is close to all the major attractions. The staff allowed us to leave our things in the room even after the normal check-out time so we could enjoy our day without carrying our luggage. Service at the hotel was wonderful. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Staying at the hotel was like living in history with its 19th century style. The hotel is old built in 1906 and they kept the style and decoration intact in wonderful condition. The seaside room views are wonderful. The breakfast alone made my stay fabulous. Really a charming staff, who are all so attentive. Of course this is an old hotel, but I was thoroughly comfortable & returned after a few days away. Appreciate the little touches: fresh fruit in the room & cookies delivered at bedtime. We had ordered two rooms: one queen and one twin, but we were given two twins. After we alerted staff to the mistake they upgraded one room to a deluxe queen with a harbour view. We were very happy. Great location, elegant decor, substantial breakfast and helpful staff. Dear sir, It's a wonderful hotel combined between royal luxury, authenticity and comfort. Moreover the standard level of service in the hotel meets our satisfaction, Also,an extremely qualified staff , regarding the buffet , was very good taste and different . The Metropole is ideally placed for the city's attractions, shopping districts, the corniche and excellent transportation. You have to wait for the hot water couple of minutes till it get really warm but its not a big problem waiting couple of minutes. My only negative comment is that the driver they arranged to take us from Alexandria back to Cairo showed up 40 minutes late, and consequently, we were quite late to our destination (Easter mass...). Had he been on time, we would also have been on time. nothing. I can't complain! book this without thinking twice. The hotel could do with some maintenance: Old chic is one thing but a tired look is not a good thing. I thought breakfast was lacking in variety but it was Ramadan and so it is not fair to judge. some of the room might need a brush of fresh paint here and there .. If I really had to find something wrong it was the water stains on the carpet in the hallways. The rooms themselves were very clean. the bathroom had a plumbing issue. Staff responded immediately but water seems to have an issue in the old hotel. In the twin room, we had no cold water the first night so couldn't shower without being scolded. Talked with reception and they said it would be fixed in 10 mins. Came back later that night and the problem was still there. Talked with reception again and a plumber came to the room immediated fixing the problem and replacing the head on the shower. The hotel seemed to go quiet after breakfast. Guests appear not to use the restaurant or bar service, although all is available. But none of this deterred from an excellent three day stay. All facilities in the city are outside the front door!. Non :))). Nothing!. A 100 years old hotel with classical decor...needs more maintenance. Hotel located in the busy spot with lots of traffic. Notorious car honking non-stop around the clock, difficult to sleep at night. Breakfast is adequate but rooms for improvement. Should be paid attention to upgrade the external windows by having double glazing windows for better noise insulation for reducing the outside noise (caused by the horns of the drivers) which was annoying for getting a good sleep. Alexandria (as Cairo) is a very noisy city caused by the drivers which they press horns all the time while driving. Noisy street. non :). The balcony is very small it is a window rather than balcony. Water pressure was very low. noise from street and luke warm water in one room. Old equipments.. The elevator is not working properly. In Egupt everyone drives like crazy. Hotel located right on the beach which is nice but very noisy in from 6am. As there was a curfew enforce while I stayed at the hotel the nights were really quiet. Dont know how noisy it will be when curfew is suspended. May be some towels shall be replaced with new ones but in general it was clean. Noisy street No coffee machine in the room. Complimentary fruits (apple, orange & banana) in rooms not very fresh. The negative thing that very noisy you can’t close the windows. Should consider for a table & chair for business and leisure traveller in the hotel room. Existing console table is just nice for a flat screen TV. Unable to access to WiFi in the hotel room even though with a strong strength signal but failed to access the internet. Have to subscribe and rely to Telco WiFi. Lack of car parking. None.
