This was a wonderful find! We stayed three days and used it as a base to explore surrounding area. Owner very friendly and helpful, room clean airy and patio perfect for relaxing after busy day. Bike rentals very handy. We enjoyed being in residential area with no city noise. Villa Marea was instantly welcoming from the minute we walked in...the rooms were spotlessly clean and the reception staff so kind and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we ever went back to Rovinj.all reviews »
The surrounding was peacefull,the room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were great!. bathroom, balcony, kitchen. I liked everything. Great location, very clean and comfortable, excellent friendly staff. Very clean, residential, nice garden and felt quite safe. Bike rental available in the lobby. 5 minute walk to beach, train station, and grocery store. Each room had a balcony or patio which was wonderful for breakfast and evening drink.The community was incrediby quiet, the staff were most helpful -and came to meet me at a nearby restaurant to guide me back to the hotel. If you stay here and you don't rent a bike to explore the area you are missing a fabulous experience. The host Juliano was most charming and helpful. The bikes he made available to us were much appreciated. A most pleasant stay in a quiet location.Very good accomodation standard, clean, nice garden. Reasonable distance from town center and the sea. Excellent staff. The value for money is excellent. The 2+1 apartment has the double and single bed in separate rooms. The bathrooms were spacious with good showers.Reception, helpfulness, peaceful, clean, spacious. Friendly and helpful staff. We contacted the manager who came to pick us up and guide us to the villa, because we could not find our way.We suggest better directions to find location. There were conflicting street signs so we became lost on our first attempt to find it. It is a rather long walk to town but a pleasant one. The 2+1 room was small for 3 person. Not really a problem for us, but it was a 15-30 minute walk to various parts of old town. However, the walk was easy and there were several parking sites near the old town area if you prefer to drive. Somewhat difficult to find after driving many hours and arriving in the dark but they came to meet me to show me the way!. It was a little further from town than we had envisaged but wasn't a problem with the bikes. Bus that usually stops outside not operating in May. In appartement 2+2 there was only one A/C facility in one room, i.e. the next room was quite hot unfortunately.The hotel is difficult to find, and without local help it would have taken us forever. You really need a car to get to the old town. Breakfast would have been appreciated as there was nowhere in the vicinity providing a morning meal.

In the area of Rovinj there are some valuable and protected parts of nature, special reserves: islands and the coast from the islet of Sv. Ivan (St John) to the islet of Dvije sestrice (Two Sisters), sea and underwater of the Limski kanal (Lim fjord) and a part of Limska draga (Lim dell), Park Forest "Punta Corrente", marsh Palud, Romuald's cave on the southern side Lim fjord and stone-pit Monfiorenzo as a kind of geological monument of nature.

Travelling information
By plane:
Pula airport with a local bus transportation to Rovinj. Rovinj can be reached also by bus from Rijeka, Trieste, Zagreb, Ljubljana (these cities have railroads and international airports).
By car from Trieste or Zagreb:
Just follow the indications for Camping Villas Rubin. When you'll arrive at the rotatory follow again the indications for Villas Rubin and turn right at the third crossroad. Then drive straight for 500 meters and you'll find us in the Vukovar street, the second house at your right side.
From Padova/Italy by bus:
There is a bus leaving from Padova everyday at 1 p.m. from Piazzale Boschetti thas goes the following route: Padova-Venezia-Trieste-Rovigno(Rovinj)- Pola.
It takes about four hours and a half to get to Rovigno (Rovinj). Or you can get a hydroplane from Venice (porto San Basilio) and Lignano.
