The location is by a very small harbour, with just local boats.Our apartment was clean and spacious. We had a nice view over the harbour and there are some nice small beaches, all within walking distance. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We decided to have breakfast, which was offered, on the terrace and it made a lovely start to the day.There are some nice restaurants, all close at hand.We had been in Dubrovnik for a few days before we came to stay at Villa New York, so it was nice t.
all reviews » Great location in the lovely and calm small village of Mlini. Everything is close (cafés, small restaurants, the beaches) and where ever you look you see the incredible views to the turqoise sea and mountains. Old town of Dubrovnik and Cavtat were easily reached by boats only 20 meters from the hotel. Boat trip took maybe 30 minutes. We were a group of 8 having three appartments/rooms with doors to a big balcony which was basically in our private use! The owner family were absolutely friendly a. 1. Owners were wonderful hosts - very friendly and happy to give local advice 2. Villa New York is a fabulous location on the waterside with wonderful sea views from the rooms and nice terraces to sit on 3. Mlini is a charming village with cafes, restaurants, beaches, bus etc in walking distance 4. Ferries stop right near the guesthouse and provide a glorious mode of transport to nearby villages and beautiful Dubrovnik. We received a very warm welcome from the owner. The room was very clean and tastefully furnished. It was a bonus to have a kitchen too which is shared with one other room. Everything you needed was provided in the kitchen - even a toaster! There is a lovely shady patio with tables and chairs where we made our own breakfast. The location is perfect -right on the waterfront. Just perfect, amazing location on sea front, beach close by and ferries stopping in front of house. Lovely terraces to sit on even if your room had no balcony. One of our rooms had its own kitchen area and the other shared with 1 other room. Hostess very friendly and prices very good. Nice walk along promenade to restaurants and shops. Sea front location Friendly proprieter. We were pleased with everything. The kitchens are quite small so preparing big dinners may be complicated. Preparing breakfast and light lunch was not a problem for us though. Mlini is a small (but growing) village so if you want to do something else than take promenades, sunbathing scuba diving etc. you have to take boat or bus to reach other activities. Hosts were very obliging about allowing us to use their laundry since there is no laundromat available in village but it would be really nice to have a guest laundry for people who are travelling for some weeks. This way there is no need to bother owners. Guests we are happy to pay to use laundry facilities. Nothing. The road down to Mlini was very narrow and parking crazy so tough going with a car at busy times, but Villa had own parking spot for a small fee. The bed in our first room was very uncomfortable. Two single beds pushed together & mattress was very hard. Nothing. Driving on the only public road taking you to the villa is a test for anyone's driving skills: narrow and two-way traffic. Coming home !.
