What my friend Claudia and me liked most about Violeta Hvar was for sure the owners and their little daughter. It's such a lovely, helpful family and they really made our short stay enjoyable. Also the room is very nice and the views from the balcony are stunning. I'd definitely recommend staying there. Very friendly couple went out of their way to be helpful and informative. Violeta Hvar is located a short walk from downtown and is therefore quiet. Very clean, modern room and bathroom. Solid internet.
all reviews » The landlord gave us a better room than was booked. It looked out over the sea and was spacious & comfortable. He dropped our luggage to the harbour for us which was a great help. friendly, warm and welcoming. Ursula was very informative. Available day or night. We will hopefully stay there again when we visit Hvar again in October. Highly recommend. Owner was extremely helpful and dropped us back in the old town on our last day so we didn't have to walk down with our bags. View from apartment was stunning. As we were backpacking our way through Croatia and kind of used to stay in very cheap places, we were first pretty shocked about the prices for accomodation on Hvar during summer month in general. Still, staying at Violeta Hvar was really worth the money. A 10-minute walk from town includes a section of quite a few steep steps and walking up inclines. This was invigorating for someone in their mid-60's, but not recommended for anyone with significant mobility issues. Hvar is very hilly and there is a long walk up hill to Violeta Hvar. The apartment was a 5 minute walk up hill from the town. Make sure you arrange for a pick up when you arrive as this is available and we made the mistake of carrying our bags ourselves. Nothing!. No electric kettle for boiling water - had to use pot. There was nothing we did not like. They charged 150 kuna for a ride to/from the harbor. It is fair, but they should have told in advance. A bit far from the city town. we couldnt stay longer :-(. The wifi didn't work even though we told the owners lots of times. The first room were given was not good so I would only stay here in a front sea view room.
