Pharia is a great choice if you're budget conscious and/or if you value quiet. Hvar Town is a very jumpy party scene, but the Pharia is located just far enough out (about a 20 min walk if you stroll at middle-aged speed) that it's absolutely quiet, and the price seemed totally reasonable. Ask for a room on the top floor, with a terrace facing the water--the views are very good. Press the staff for walking directions into town--it took us 2-3 tries before we found the most direct route. Ther.
all reviews » The Pharia felt like a small place, but afforded all the facilities you could ask for. It was very clean and modern, placed amongst mainly residences about a 15 minute scenic seaside stroll from the town centre and the nearest beachfront is less than 5 minutes away. The staff are about as friendly as you will find in a hotel. They all live in the hotel for the season and on their days off they just hang out and help/entertain guests. They will help you arrange activities, tours or anything . Can`t fault this for value, although not the prettiest hotel.. We booked it because of the proximity to the Viking Diving centre in the nearby posher, more expensive Hotel Postine. For that the situation was excellent. We had an appartment for 5 which was well-equipped and comfortably air-conditioned. If the hotel had a swimming pool that would be a great bonus when it is hot! No problem walking to town centre. We ate evening meal at the nearby Hotel Croatia which was very pleasant. Spacious aparthotel room with good sea view. A pleasant 15 minute walk from there, along the sea front, into Hvar where there are numerous restaurants. Hvar is a very attractive, medieval town in a lovely location. There is an adequate supermarket near to the hotel to buy provisions, although breakfast was provided. staff were lovely and really helpful. Basic room and facilities, but we were using the hotel as a base so was perfect. nice and quiet which is what you need after a heavy night! Good location, 15/20minute walk from the port, 2 minutes from HulaHula!!. The receptionist, Lubjana, went out of her way to see that we could check in earlier and we were also served breakfast early next morning before usual time. I strongly recommend taking a taxi. Having to pay for a cappuccino in the morning was a bit too much considering the price we were paying for the room. The hotel was far from the harbour and town centre. Apartment did not have a pool which would have been nice. water for shower was not warm, due to solar system in hotel. no included breakfast. I found this hotel very expensive for what you were getting. The pics dont look like the hotel and the cafe is closed so you cant in fact buy something to drink at the hotel. The parkview room isnt nice at all. We had booked one parkview and one seaview per couple. Def will never book parkview again. - old towels without use of softener - no window in toilet - no frigobar - no swimming pool - staff not very proactive - cleaning could be better, but not too bad. We booked a twin room but it was a double when we arrived. Signs on way from town were not clear. Breakfast was a mess, battle with other guests for food which wasn't all that good. Cleanliness could be improved and standard of furniture and fittings. Appalling towels Imperfect shower Difficult vehicle access. Far from the centre Dysfunctional Wifi/Internet. We took quite some time from the ferry port to the hotel. The hotel has many flys and Mosquitos. Also, they nearly provide zero amenities in the bathroom except towel and hair dryer.
