We stayed at Kate's place for one week and enjoyed every minute of it. The studio was very clean and comfortable, it has everything one might need on vacation. Also the terrace is rather big and has a beautiful view to the sea. The location is great - there are a couple of shops in 5-10 min walk, and a nice beach at 5 minutes distance. all reviews » We loved Kate and her husband Mario. They were so nice, friendly and wanted to do everything for us! The view is amazing from the appartments 1 and 2... right above the ocean! They are nicely decorated, clean and quiet. It is close to one of the (stone)beaches and you can walk (al the way down) to the old city of Dubrovnik in less than 20 min. Back home to the appartment we took a cab and that only costed 7 euro. When we come back, we will most certainly stay at Kate's place!. Kate & Mario were extremely friendly and put us at ease right away. They were helpful and really could not have been more enjoyable or pleasant hosts. They also arranged our collection from and return to the airport which was better value than other local transport available. The most important thing was that they really made us feel welcome and we would certainly use the facilities again on our next visit, Gordon & Dianne Mckay. Kate & Mario are very warm & welcoming hosts! We arrived a bit early & Kate was out but Mario invited us in for a glass if wine & explained where all the necessities were - grocery store, bakery & of course the old part of Dubrovnik. Kate came home & we had a good visit. The apartment has fantastic views & sunsets. We walked easily to the old city & Lapad for dinner. The hostess was very hospitable and easy-going. She made sure we feel comfortable and gave us a lot of advice on what to see in Dubrovnik and around the town. It felt like she truly enjoys welcoming guests and puts all her heart in it. It was especially pleasant that the hostess offered us coffee on a balcony with sea view in the morning, even though it wasn't included in the price. Great choice for a stay in Dubrovnik! The host – Kate as mentioned in other reviews is very welcoming and helpful. She gave us great recommendations for places to visit, which were spot on. Our apartment had a terrace and was well fitted with everything you can think of including a dishwasher , iron, cutleries, tv, wi-fi connection etc. The walk to the old town is pleasant. Kate was wonderfully welcoming and helpful, and the view from the balcony was superb. The apartment was well set up and comfortable. At first I was a little concerned about the distance to the old town (20-25 min walk), but in the end I was happy to be able to get away from the crowds and relax. Great place for a reasonable price. The view. dealing with the owner was uncomplicated. There really isn't anything we could complaint about. having to leave our hosts and return home. would have loved to have stayed longer. We had twin beds which were very comfy but a bit short for my husband who is 5' 10". I slept like a rock but not him. If you are tall it could be a problem, but short people like me have no worries. The only negative thing, very small though, is that hosts smoked inside the house. However, when the hostess noticed our discontent, she immediately stopped and excused. Just make sure you have checked the address or that you have a GPS. Not a single remark to make !. Quite a walk to the nearest grocery store but a local mini market was refurbished. Minor, no restaurant within short walking distance unless you want to dine in a 5-star hotel. Nothing. Perhaps a little far from the old town. Easy walk there but uphill back although it is easy to use a taxi. The small place, no warderobe in the second room( we booked an apartment). the aparment (Mario, studio for up to 4 people) is not good value for money, it does not sleep four people comfortably, the local beach is not a beach but climb down the rocks on which you cannot sit comfortably. There is no private parking, its parking in the street (which is a dead end street so it gets busy but not overly so for Dubrovnik standards).
