This is a great hotel to overnight between flights to and from Shanghai Pudong airport. I arranged - at short notice - for a (free) hotel pickup at the airport, and this worked perfectly; I also took the hotel bus - again gratis - back to the airport (c. 15 minutes) the next morning. The hotel itself is a modern, well-equipped one, and the receptionists spoke good English; they were also friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Bottom line - this will be my default hotel whenever I tr.

No problems finding English speaking staff and all were courteous and friendly.Room was much better than I expected for the money paid. Free shuttle bus to airport as well! Hint: when travelling by taxi have the phone number of your hotel for the driver, they dont speak english but will ring the hotel for directions. This hotel provided excellent value for money. The room was huge, it had a big tub. Breakfast was excellent by Chinese hotel standards. The shuttle bus to the airport was punctual and comfortable. It is next to a small shopping area which had plenty of restaurants. It was a 5 minute walk to the metro. We stayed here for one night before a flight and it was perfect as an airport hotel. For an airport hotel in China this is wonderfully placed. Near the subway for general movement once your checked in. The shuttle to the airport is excellent. Rooms are well set out with all you need at a high standard. Gym is ok, but remember to take down your towel as there are none there. We found the hotel in a very convenient position for us. It was only a few hundred metres from the subway which gave you access to any where in Shanghai plus it was close to where we were conducting Business. A very functional hotel, close by to the airport, and fits the bill perfectly is you need to just overnight nearby before catching a plane the next day. Room was comfortable and clean, western food from the bar was nice and reasonably priced. Free airport shuttle. We arrived from the states and were leaving next day for Vietnam. The QUBE is the most beautiful hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in. Courteous staff, extremely clean and well presented room, and comfortable bed. Breakfast was stupendous! We will stay here every time we are in Shanghai. The proximity to the airport. The ease of checking in- we checked in within 4 minutes of arriving! Very positive experience. We had a great stay there after a long travel and even if we could not enjoy longer than 2 pm the room, we had a restful stay there when arriving at 9 am in the morning. I liked the hotel - but it is not a suitable one for those wishing to be near the Bund and the other main sights of central Shanghai, since I was told at reception that it takes about an hour by taxi into the city centre. The internet was down some of the time I was there - but, to be fair, there was a notice in my room explaining that the system was being upgraded, and there would be interruptions. It should work well when the upgrade is complete. Air conditioning in public areas is very cool- beware! Spa is on the expensive side. Smoking in public areas is allowed so be warned, people will sit down and smoke next to you even if you are eating!. The settings on the air conditioner gave a few problems and we cooked a few times although it was cold outside. The televisions were back to back in adjoining rooms and if next door fell asleep with the tv on it could keep you awake at night. The airport shuttle is a little infrequent - just once every hour or so, we ended up getting a taxi when we arrived instead, but took the shuttle back the next morning. Transportation was a pain to set up, but had no problem on way back to airport. Make sure you give them at least 24 hr notice. Cab was cheap. Very far from the city centre, but that's remedied with the very close subway station. - Room internet is not the WiFi type; - Should reduce room rate and as breakfast is not included; - Should review shuttle bus departing from hotel to airport in every 45 mins, such as at 05:00, 05:45, 06:30 am, and so on.... - Not a membership for frequent flyer of Star Alliance. Nothing!. Tricky electric switch, need 2 cards. Wireless not in room, spotty in lobby. Bar ok, but they allowed smoking. There is a law in China against smoking, the hotel seems to tolerate smoking and it would be nice if they would start to address it. There were smokers in the elevator. Nothing bad at all. Smoking indoors - can't get away from the other guests who smoke. The clock in the room doesn't keep time well as the electricity is cut off each time the room is vacant. I had to rely on wake up call but they gave me the wrong time to reset my clock. So I ended up rushing and being half an hour early (5.30am) - I needed that extra sleep. Problem with getting taxi as close to airport, expect to pay more than meter or make sure you book hotel transfer +24hr in advance or they refuse. Spa tried to con me regarding their very expensive massage. nothing. Wi-fi only available in lobby (but it is free with no password). Staff is very good at reception and then the balance of the staff is very mediocre and severely undertrained but this is pretty standard for most Chinese hotels. Shuttle didn't come. Had to call and wait for an hour. the breakfast is not very high quality need improvement and better taste is very important becos guest love a good and delicious breakfast must be fresh and bread not so hard the management must try and taste it to know what i meant, believe me so that you can have guest pouring in if you cater better with a good spirit if you want old guest to return to stay at the qube. Far from the town. Wifi unstable and weak. the shops in the market are mostley closed, so no possibility for shoping,. Not much to do in the area -. coffee at breakfast, lack of timely shuttle bus service airport to hotel, difficulty for taxi to know hotel location and get to hotel, Staff could try to look happier. Staff English is not good and difficult to talk to them. Rooms could be a little bit more clean. There was no individual operation for the room air conditioning. Internet in room no wireless! Breakfast poor for a 5 star. Even tea and coffee is DIY! For a 5 Star this is disappointing. Aircon did not work, Very long ride with the Metro to Shanghai (but extremely cheap too), restaurants and bar overpriced considering the quality of what you get. making a reservation for a taxi was a bit difficult as it could not be charged to the room and cash is needed. 8% service charge for cash back via credit card is a bit hefty. No wifi in the rooms. Breakfast for two, not just for one pax. We confirmed our visit by e-mail, and wrote that we'll use shuttle bus - but it hasn't come. When we arrived to hotel the receptionist said that we had to confirmed shuttle bus only by phone. It advertises as an airport hotel, but getting there from PVG is anything but easy! And it is not near either. No wifi, online wired LAN which is a bit unpractical for smartphones. Further the hotel shuttle is not frequent. I had to take a taxi both at arrival and departure. Early and late the shuttle only goes each 2 hours.
