I was in town for attending Canton Fair. Well organized free shuttle service to the Fair. Made a special request for early check in at 10am which was granted without any extra fees. Very nice swimming pool. Overall truly 5 star hotel. Very good hotel in French style with great breakfast commparing with other places in China! Comparing with other hotels of this level also the price is good and atequate! Good wifi in the room free of charge!.

It is located in the CBD of Guangzhou, so it is a little off the shopping and wholesale areas. The Chinese restaurant was not to our liking, way over the top... beds are quit old.. Sofitel beds are usually amaizing comfortable.. ALWAYS LONG QUEUE AT THE RECEPTION. Food is very over priced!! Spa treatments very over priced!!!. almost nothing to complain. Check out can be a hassele,100+rooms 4 clerk desk You can imagine when everybody wants to check out in the morning. Can't walk to many places from this location. We arrived at 3ish in the afternoon but we waited till 5pm to get the room. Though the front desk staff gave us a coffee coupon as compensation, it's quite unacceptable to wait till 5pm to get the room, which is 3 hours later than usual. And when we finally got into the room, the cleaning staff suddenly opened the door without any notice, and obviously she didnt know we have been into the room. And we found some slight stains in one of the pillows. Minor technical problems. lobby was kind of out of the date, service at the breakfast was average: whenever you leave the table, the waiters will clear the table even if you clearly have not finished!. No indian food on the menu. The service need to improve, not yet up to 5 star hotel standard. Rooms not too clean (on arrival had to ask carpet to be vacuumed), people smoking in corridors inspite no smoking signs, open concept bathroom. Too few staff at reception, always had waiting time (only 3 staff available, one for check in/out). No resturant no night club. 1-There is no much sea food in the hotel(for Muslims) last year there was nice meal(tigger prwon) it was very nice 2- the staff are still weak in English same last year. Very slow internet unprofessional manager. Breakfast is expensive but good dim sum nearby. Mantinance for plumping. It was very uncomfortable to ask me to put more deposit at the door when I leave the restaurant. Food was cold on two our of 3 meals. Check in very slow. Checking out bill was incorrect but it took 30 mins to explain why and I explained I had a train to catch but they had to try to prove it, but didn't. They charged me for two meals on the same night in two different restaurants at the same time. Not near anything. A little bit far from metro, which is a minus given the traffic condition in GZ. Billing system. Food counter labelling at the 988 cafe. We are having buffet lunch where the label of the sausage is chicken but what they serve is a mixture of chicken and beef sausage. WE DO NOT CONSUME BEEF!. The staff.
