The King Parkview Hotel is in the hutong district of Beijing which gives you a fascinating insight to old Beijing. While many Chinese tourists were doing tours of the of the area, we saw it first hand. The hotel is an older style building but quite comfortable. The supplied breakfast had enough of both western and Chinese options to satisfy anyone. it is within walking distance of The Forbidden City (Palace Museum), Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing Street and the night food market, and if you are .
all reviews » The location was very convenient as it was close to forbidden city, tiananmen, jingshan park, and wangfujing! There is also a nice convenience store downstairs and great alley cafe down the road. Family room was spacious and had a pc. Its also inside a nice, quiet and quaint compound.staff were helpful in getting us a taxi and attending to our needs. If I can give this hotel 5 stars I will do, staff very helpful, they do their best to help us even if they dont speak very well english. But they speak english better than most of staff in beijing. Rooms are very clean.and they clean it everyday and they chang towels everyday. Not far from forbiden city and shopping.wifi for free in the lobby. Spacious, clean, well equipped, room and bathroom The staff were accomodating and nice except for this one guy at the front desk who is very arrogant & unfriendly. The breakfast and the rooms were very nice and big, the location was good also. Great location, even if it was a bit far from the MRT lines. It's quite a nice hotel for a three star. Good friendly atmosphere. The location of this hotel is perfect, right next to the Forbidden City and the surrounding sights. In the back-alley are many local restaurants with delicious food, especially the BBQ. Also, there is a small store in the same street. If you are looking for a hotel near The Forbidden City and Jinshan Park, this will fit the bill. It is situated in a busy Hutong and is comfortable and clean. For me it was a little far away from night life. A certain old-fashioned and nostalgic atmosphere that's quite charming. Situated in a hutong area and very near Palace Museum and Jingshan Park. Hotel room is clean. Location is good and near to city centre. However, have to walk as difficult to call taxi. Can go on bus nos. 111 or 103. Breakfast is good. Cleanliness in their room. Everyday they clean the room ang changed the towels. - reasonable hotel rate - walking distance to 景山公园 - help to make transportation arrangement. Good location, behind the Forbiden City, clean rooms. the position and the price. We got what we paid for. The room was clean and quiet. Location is brilliant. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. The man who works in the business centre tonsort out trips etc. He was just amazing- probably the friendliest and most helpful person I met travelling around China. It is not so expensive. Not such a big problem but there didn't appear to be any restaurant for evening meals, but there are plenty of local restaurants in the street outside the hotel. A bit hard to get a taxi to come to the hotel for a pickup but there are plenty on the main road 2 minutes walk from the front of the hotel. Taxi drivers dont know how to find the place. No wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Hard to find even by taxi. 4 taxi drivers could not find it, and finally 3 young men helped us and explained for a taxi driver how to reach our hotel,it was still difficult to the taxi driver to find the hotel even after the explication of the 3 young men. But I think it is a problem of taxi drivers in beijing not good enough ,as later I move easily and I find the hotel without any problem. The hotel is a little bit far from the main road. Breakfast does not vary. Unnecessary things are kept under the stairways which are eyesore. Hallway at the family rooms wing does not smell good. But for all the negative things that I mentioned I would still consider this hotel when I return to Beijing. There were little signs of where the entrance is during night and early morning. We arrived at 1am it was raining and we had to walk under the rain while it was dark looking for the entrance to the lobby of the hotel. Staff were not at all friendly or helpful. Everything seemed a bit of a hassle for them. Only saving grace was the young man at the tour booking desk. He was great. It's entrance is on a back street. Difficult to find until we knew it was there. Also back street has shops and stalls which made it very difficult for the car to negotiate. The facilities of the hotel are a bit old and the rooms show their age. Plus, the cleaning performance of the maid was not so good, although we requested many times to vacuum our room. The room description says "landmark view", and judging by the hotel's location, I suppose the landmark in question is the Forbidden City. However, I only got a room with a view of the hotel compound, the front desk staff simply telling me all the rooms with landmark view had been taken. So I was kind of disappointed in this regard. Breakfast is lousy, few selections and food is cold. Wifi connection only at lobby not in room thus inconvenient. Should have provide bottles of drinking water for guest rooms. We arrived early in the hotel around 3:am with my family of 5 they told me that we can check-in in our room at 6am. We're tired and we want to sleep so I approached the guy in the front desk that i'm willing to pay for 3 hrs. Just to have sleep but he told me that i'm going to pay rmb 1,200 I was shocked, he just let us stay in the lobby with a very hard furniture and small chair. We just waited for 6am for our room rather to pay rmb 1,200. This hotel is not accommodating. - the balcony/terrace is only accessible in the late afternoon - day tour is only available to non-mandarin speaking tourists - WIFI is only available at the hotel lobby - nearest subway station is 东四, have to take bus from a bus stop which is located around 400 m from the hotel to reach there. Difficult to get a taxi, most of the taxi drivers refuse to enter the street during the day, far from subway (2 bus stops away), the public area of the hotel is kind of little torn of,f but the room was clean , except the funny smell in the bathroom. Bathroom needs to be updated. Limited on English speaking. I'm not like this hotel.and never visit this place more. Very bad service. The other staff are moody and generally unpleasant. They could not order a taxi for me for my departure. They suggested going with a member of staff to hail a taxi but when I explained that it was about an hour too early for me to leave they were very rude and withdrew their offer. Breakfast is a disaster, so I only had it twice. Many of staff can not speak English. Not good breakfast. It isn't near the subway. Internet is not working properly in every rooms. Staff recommend to go to the lobby for Wifi... There's no bottle of water in the rooms (at night, it's not possible to buy some at the reception and you have to go outside). Heating during winter is too high and there's no possibility to make it cooler (well yes you have one: open the windows). My toilets (even with the banner Disinfected on it) was obviously not cleaned at my arrival. Receptionists doesn't show any sympathy for customers. They must learn that customers pay their salaries! A smile is mandatory in hotel staff. With the exception of the lady that cleaned the terrace, I had no Smile from any member of staff, during 3 days stay!! Walls and carpets on corridor are very dirty!. Staff seemed to be unhelpful and unwilling to help. Filthy carpet, bathroom is dirty, mouldy silicon around the shower, Incredible slow and bad internet connection. Staff doesn't speak any English. Business center is useless. Room rate are too expensive for what the hotel provided. Always shortage of toilet paper. I had booked 3 bed seperately ,but they did not provide like that .so it was uncomfortable.
