The location is very good for a central location. The restaurant has good food and a good value. the staff at the hotel and the restaurantare very nice and very helpful. We stay here everytime we come and are treated well. quaint, 50s-era roadside motel (still had real keys). run by elderly couple. Family-style room w/2 dbl & 2 sgl beds. seemingly co-owned restaurant on premises w/disc coupons for bkfst. EZ Detroit acsess.
all reviews » Our friends, my wife and I enjoyed staying at the Ivy Rose Motor Inn. It was like staying in Las Vegas for the original Oceans 11 movie. Everything was very clean and the prices were fantastic. I liked how friendly the staff was. They also answered all our questions on things we needed as we were not driving and had to cab our way around, definitely left a tip. WAY beyond our expectations! Spacious room; VERY comfortable beds; very clean (older construction, but very clean room!!) Staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were very roomy, clean & comfortable. We enjoyed the pool it was clean & warm & the restaurant great home cooking @ a great price. Early check in time.The size of the room ,for 3 adults and a 9 year old we were not crammed in plus 2 people able to was and dress at same time. the staff were very friendly, had to leave a day earlier than planned and they didn't charge me. Very thankful for that. Will be returning. The price was very very good and like the fact that we had an 88 year old with us and didn't have to pay extra. clean, friendly and bed very comfortable and excellent pillows! restraunt lovely and economical for breakfast. Not a lot. the light in our room didnt work correctlyand the bathroom faucet ran unless you fussed with it to get it to shut off. The staff responded to the light problem immediately, however, it still didnt work properly through our stay. Also, i wasnt aware that using the website caused there to be additional fees added on to our stay. I would have called them directly as I have in years past. My only minor, minor complaint was the pillows were a little too hard for my liking. I did not have an iron & ironing board in our room. fan in bathroom didn't work,. was surprised that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. There wasn't any info in the room as to where to get ice and if there was a breakfast with the room. The line at the restaurant in the morning was crazy so we had to travel to get breakfast. Nothing. no coffee in room. No screen in the back window and a lack of unused electrical outlets. Television was awful 13 channels and half of them were so bad you couldn't watch them. Only bad thing about the place. the rooms need to be brighter, new carpets and furniture, very dated, old furniture, fridge. the room had an unpleasant smell...really considered not staying or asking for a different room. the refrigerator was not very clean on the inside and rusty on the outside. The furniture was very old.......time to remodel/update? Wouldn't stay there again. Hard as rock & very thin pillows - only 3 but should be 4. Hallway leading to upstairs rooms pitch black at night - no light - very dangerous Toilet backed up. The beds were really hard. Room extremely dated. Price was beyond value. Not close to restaurants and on site was closed. Paper thin walls. We could hear every sound from three adjoining rooms. I room smelled like cigarets.The tub was not clean. Carpet very dirty - needed cleaning Bathroom infested with tiny ants - although owner addressed this issue immediately Pool not open at end of May A retro 60's property - too much money for this property. Not up to times. very old hotel and very expensive. i left after a week and i found for the same price a much better hotel. I am very dissapointed.
