Great facilities and lovely breakfast. Julia was great host and very helpful with any of our needs. Allowed us to do our laundry which we greatlr appreciated. Very clean and comfortable and if you are traveling without a car it is not to far to walk to the number 22 or number 2 bus to take you downtown. Also heaps of eateries in nearby Broadway Street. Great stay. The hostess, Julia was friendly, accommodating and very pleasant. Lovely atmosphere. We were welcomed and advised to make ourself at home. The fridge was available with yogurt, fruit, juice, milk etc. We were free to avail ourselves of the contents at any time. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate was available 24/7.
all reviews » The nice clean rooms. Julia and Ray were so friendly - we enjoyed meeting them. Close to what we wanted to do while in Vancouver. Nice to sit outside and chat. Comfortable areas to sit inside. We look forward to staying there on our next visit. Julia went to great trouble to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed for our stay. The Rose room was very comfortable and spacious. The setting is in a quiet and very pretty suburban street in lovely Kitsilano. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was a very convenient lcation for getting into UBC and Kitsilano is a great place to stay with lots of shops and restaurants. Julia was a very attentive hostess who went all out to ensure guests were well looked after. The room was comfortable, shared bathroom clean, the hostess friendly and helpful. Location. Quiet. We liked everything. Long waits for cooked breakfast. Needed a larger coffee pot because we often ran out of it and it took a long time to brew the next pot. Need to have skim or non-fat milk. Had to ask how to work the shower head. The cooked breakfast was average. Hot Breakfast was served too late in the morning for business traveler. Shared bathroom with another room (although never an issue). Liked eveything. Could not fault. No owners, other residents stayed there so it lacked atmosphere. The bedroom was pretty cold as it was not apparent where to change the temperature or indeed easy to ask anyone how to, as no one was around. Breakfast was basic and a little confusing (lots of guests and little explanation as to where everything was. Cooked breakfast very slow . In the summer, the room can be a bit warm, though it cooled down during the night, and fans were provided. The breakfast was the same each day, no variety. There was enough to eat, would have liked options. A little too formal. Hot breakfast is not served before 9am. N/a. I was told parking available on premises. This is not correct - street parking only. Breakfast served only at 9am, not very useful, not flexible Bathroom rather shoddy, clean but cheaply done. No drinking glass in bath which is down the hall, no water in room. Bulk amenities only. Did not see proprietor once after checkin. No smoking area under cover. Level of house maintenance. 1)beds blocked cupboard 2)moldings missing from ceiling 3)electric outlet pushed into wall 4)towel rack missing/bracket pushed into wall 5)Bath/shower not clean 6)Way over priced!!!!!. 2 night stay-no clean towels on second day Not clean-mold in shower and whole place needs updating and a good cleaning.
