I loved everything about Sooke Harbour House. unique experience. Each room originally decorated. Otters playing in water outside my room.Jakusi, terrace and garden outside room. Wonderful tour of edible flowers and herb garden by the head gardener was superb and a real treat. Staff absolutely superb. I would recommend this to everyone. my only regret was that the dining room wasn't open on Wednesday night when we stayed.
all reviews » Great and very helpful stuff. Romantic and interesting design - my wife was really impressed by the bath tube in the living room. There is no a TV set in room which is good for us. Finally, there was enough fire wood for the fireplace :). Loved the room we had - The Kingfisher Room. Beautiful view, quiet, at the end of the hall. Pretty little breakfast room. Big, comfy bed. Breakfast was good. The port in the room was a nice touch after a superb dinner. Awesome meal!. The location, facilities, staff and food were all excellent. A relaxing experience in luxurious surroundings - we really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck with a view of the ocean and the mountains. We loved the comfort of our room and the view of the water. The setting is really quite spectacular, offering easy access to the beach for walks and, for the brave, swimming n. We loved the gardens, our room, the food ( which was superlative), the staff( very friendly and helpful). we can't say enough positive about Sooke Harbour House. The themed rooms were very interesting. All rooms have a fabulous view of East Sooke Park and the Olympic Peninsula. Whiffin Spit was a nice walk before dinner. The locale was second to none, the staff was excellent, the room was cozy and comfy, the food was tasty, the complimentary port was a crowning touch!. Beautiful and serene location, fantastic and comfortable room, nice breakfast served to your room, port in room upon arrival was very welcoming. Ambience. Organic food in restaurant. Restaurant dinner was delicious, view of water from balcony enjoyed. Nothing not to like. The unpaved parking lot....... Thought the shower and tub needed a bit of TLC; needed scrubbing. Was expecting stellar meal at dinner but didn't meet expectations. Service was strained. Bed squeaked. Fireplace wood was not dry. Breakfast menu was difficult to understand ...but the hostess worked us through it. can't think of a thing. This place is almost magical. Hope to return. A bit pricey - I would love to visit more often but can't afford it. No Breakfast or Lunch service except for a picnic lunch available during our weekday stay. Being unable to buy my mom a robe like the one provided in our room, or to be able to prepay and have one shipped. Traffic through Victoria. Did not honour reservation as made, substituted inferior room. Front desk made no effort to improve experience. Room was smoky, amenities worn and dated, balcony was dirty.
