This place was great! We had our own suite with private bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and kitchen-like area and our own entry-way. The breakfasts were amazing! Great fresh fruit, homemade scones, hearty egg entrees, etc. Darlene was a wonderful hostess and so accommodating. Oh, and her home overlooks the sea! What a lovely view in a great quiet neighborhood. And her garden is amazing, seriously. I spent an hour just going through it once. It's sooooo lovely! Finally, we paid less for our suit.
all reviews » Darlene was very friendly and accommodating. She especially went out and bought gluten free bread so that I could have toast with the delicious breakfast she serves. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean and very well stocked. The entire house was clean and very attractive. We were not able to appreciate the garden as it was November when we stayed, but we did enjoy the birds which came to feed outside the breakfast room window. We enjoyed our stay!. We are very pleased with our stay at the Island View B & B. Darlene is very nice, kind and helpful. We could not have stayed in better place, great views and a lovely garden. The room and bathroom were very clean and nice. Nice breakfast each morning. Thank you Darlene that you helped to make our stay in Canada as successful and pleasant. We stayed in the apartment which is a excellent choice if you plan for more days. Clean ! Comfortable. A large living room with kitchen. Good bedroom and bathroom. A gorgeous large garden which for us was the reason we stayed an other day. The lady of the house serves a delicious breakfast. Fresh fruit and scones are her speciality. Darlene has turned her yard into a flower garden paradise! In fact, it should be on a horticultural B&B list if there is such a thing! I'm no expert but it's impressive! She's a bit of a dynamo I'd say! My wife and I had a very comfortable king sized bed on the ground level and the breakfast was extremely good!. B & B is located in quiet suburb of Nanaimo. Owner's garden is very good. Owner is very friendly and I got a warm welcome. Breakfast is delicious and maffins are fresh-baked. Seashore is 3 minites walk. Everything is perfect. Darlene was a warm and friendly hostess without going over the top. The house is spotlessly clean with a lovely garden and view of the sea. Breakfast was always delicious. We'll return!. Loved the proprieter - friendly, accommodating and easy-going. Her gardens were amazing and the breakfast was delicious!!!! Would definitely stay there again if we get to Nanaimo again. There wasn't anything that we could complain about. letsbookhotel.com makes a remark in the booking confirmation about ID and creditcard presentation on arrival, this gives the false idea that credit cards are accepted. They are not. As mentioned further in the small text 'payment in cash'. Please remove this remark. Nothing. Would like to have stayed longer. It would have been nice to have a view from our room, but no other complaints. Lovely place. The bathroom was dated but very functional and clean as was our room. Absolutely nothing. Stayed only 1 night, would have enjoyed a longer stay. Nothing. Nothing would happily stay there again. To reach the B&B with heavy luggage was not easy. No sitting room, but just a big kitchen.
