Good value for a short-term stay; friendly and responsive staff; good location on Queens University campus; direct access to campus architecture and facilities that were of interest; great access to lake front walking trails; an easy 15 minute walk to Kingston downtown area shopping and eateries.
This is a great stay for the price. Expect a dorm-like setting - not a regular hotel. Quiet and not too far from downtown. I would stay again if at Kingston. Besides indirectly we supported some needy students and an academic institution by staying here.all reviews »
Very nice location aside the lake, you can take a walk in afternoon and it's really wonderful sigh view.
Very nice stuff and being very friendly to introduce travel route.
It's clean. It locates on riverside and beautiful campus. Most important, it's relatively cheap ($50/per night).
The location was great. We were close to downtown Kingston and the lake.
The room was clean and comfortable.
10 minutes walking to city hall. It is really quiet. There is a small kitchen and you can make tea.

Dorm-life residence is good for student-aged children but beds are small and mattress is uncomfortable for an adult. Minimal room and shared bath in hallway require effort (although both room and bath were quite clean).
The room has a weird odor when we got in, and never go away till we check out. We tried to open all the windows and the door to let it go but never success.
There's no wifi in the room, it's ok, but if it has, it will be more convenient.
Shared washroom. No air conditioner. No TV.
Facilities are old.
The mattress made of boards.
Parking should be included daytime.
No reserved parking.

Guests arriving up to and including June 7th, 2015 will be checking in at Victoria Hall (but staying at McNeil). Guests arriving from June 8th until the end of August 2015, will be checking in at Watts Hall (but again, staying at McNeil).
Watts, Victoria and McNeil are all within 5 minutes' walk on the same campus. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in.
