We loved this motel and wished we had been able to stay longer. I'd pre-booked so check-in was quick and easy. The room was huge, air-con was quiet, large flat screen TV if you wanted to watch it, also coffee machine. Bathroom well equipped. Motel foyer had constant supply of tea/coffee, plenty of seating in lounge area, small swimming pool adjacent. Best of all there was a covered veranda with seats where you could sit and watch the river traffic going by - Dartmouth was just across the riv.
all reviews » I liked the fact that we placed in the back (newer) area with a view of the Bedford basin. It had more room than the first floor central hallway access and very comfortable beds. We had been in B&B's for two weeks and I will state that these were the best beds we had in the whole trip. Excellent breakfast as well. Breakfast was good overall and convenient. Staff had a map to direct you to nearby movie theaters and printed out what was playing. All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. A very homey feeling in a beautiful setting. The staff were extremely friendly and appeared very capable. Breakfast was delicious in a spotlessly clean setting. thanks so much. Staff was incredible! Very pleasant and helpful. We are travelling with 2 pooches and they were very receptive to our pets and their needs. Hats off to this group!. Full, hot breakfast; quiet room at back of motel, off street parking, facilities like Wif-fi, fridge, microwave, laundry. I liked that it was clean, friendly staff, breakfast included,& had a pool & fitness room. The convenient location and courteous staff as well as the view and cleanliness. breakfast in the morning , pool clean, rooms nice , staff very friendly. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Very quiet hotel great for sleeping. Room located back from the highway. Clean,good breakfast,friendly staff. view, service, comfort. The best thing is that they have smoking rooms. Smokers now are treated like lepers in the 1800;s or HIV carriers in the 60's. The staff treated us like regular human beings even though we were smokers. Comfortable room. Nothing. What's not to like??? The pool was a bit small but fine for a family with kids. They had trouble keeping the breakfast items stocked but were there to let you know more was coming. Organization problems or staff shortage?. Would have been easier to be located on the main floor with our pooches. Very noisy fan in bathroom that came on with light. Wi-Fi cut out frequently - not able to accommodate number of users. For a room with 2 queen beds, I found the bathroom really small. Very cramped for a mother & daughter to both try to get ready. It was quiet while we were there; but if it had been at all busy or earlier in evening the fitness room would be way to small if anyone else had come along (friends trip). Also, after shopping all day & into the evening; it would have been nice to have the pool open later. Until 10:30 or 11:00 !. Noisy unruly kids in the pool. When I tried to book the room on returning to Halifax for the last 3 nights the price was much higher, just because I called by phone, I did not have my computer with me. That just did not seem fair. It's a bit old. Breakfast was just fair. Smell of smoking on the first floor was disgusting.
