We stayed at Podollan after I had surgery and the room could not have been more conducive to my needs. Lots of space to move around in the room, nice modern furniture, the dinning room staff were excellent; I felt like we were at a five star resort. The bathroom was very spacious and we had the most comfortable beds and pillows. I booked online and the price was higher than when we checked out, we were given the lower price to pay. I liked that the staff put water into the fridge knowing that I just had a massage treatment and that i would need to drink lots of water. I also liked the cleanliness of my room for the best part. The bed was very comfortable and I am allergic to feathers (unfortunately) but the staff sent up non-feather pillows up right away after my request. I had very nice sleep being a quiet really helped. the water provided also greatly appreciated. What made this hotel stand out for us was the gluten free options they have available on their menu. It was very nice to be able to get up & have a breakfast we could eat, in the hotel we were staying at. That is a treat for us. Hot breakfast included is much better than the normal "continental" fare. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Attached restaurant is a plus. Advanced checkout is convenient. Love the beds. Also the comforter and pillows are great. Service was very good as well. Also it is a very quiet place to stay which is important to us. Location, facilities, room - fantastic! I forgot my makeup remover and when I inquired about this at the front desk they did not have a make-up remover packet like they do at other hotels; not a big deal, I just felt bad taking my makeup off with the nice white face cloth. The room looked clean and the bathroom was clean as well until I wanted to brush my teeth and the sink would not drain. When after some time it finally drained, the smell that came out of that sink was revolting and discusting. I reported the problem to the front desk and they attempted to solve the probelm but the stench was still there that same evening. It's a beautiful property but that would turn me off of staying there again - it was that horrible!. The 1st room we were given was very cold (57 degrees f). We tried turning the T-stat up, but even after an hour it was still only up to 58 F. However, when we called the front desk about it, they immediately moved us to the room right next door, which the temperature was great & T-stat worked. Next time we stay we will not take a room on the main floor. The suite was nice though. The coffee maker was incomplete with the filter holder missing completely. Mentioned on check out. Not important to us or we would have called about it sooner. Traffic noise. While some may say that the windows are sound-proof, light sleepers may disagree. Rainy weather. Our room this time was very noisy with outside traffic. The iron board had one of its stands wobbling. Had a tough time ironing, but didn't want to disturb the staff for this, as I was there for just one night. SERVICE....there was no one to take the luggage to and from the room. Had to take my luggage myself...staff was rude when asked for help. They need to improve their customer service to retain the customers. Overpriced Hard bed Poor use of space in room Under qualified staff. Terrible breakfast bar. Not enough pillows for a King sized bed. 2 towels in the room, had to ask for more.
