Although I had a letsbookhotel.com reservation number the hotel did not have it upon check-in. Fortunately, there were plenty of rooms available and I was given a free upgrade. Even though the restaurant was empty my prime rib arrived cold. I sent it back to be heated up and it came back lukewarm and without the garlic mashed potatoes that went back for reheating also. I gave up at that point and took the prime rib home in a doggy bag (at $22) for my dog. I will stick to the bar food next time.
all reviews » The staff where exception. We only stayed there because we were visiting Buffalo for the day with friends. Now we will return for another 2 days because we are visiting nol with family. It is cheaper & quieter in Fort Erie. The staff were polite, competent, sincere, and always ready to help. The cleanliness of the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Especially the main floor public washrooms. The cleanliness of room, staff of accomodating our need for a room that was not for pets because one of us had allergies, quiet, lobby decor, swimming pool. travelling with our grandchildren,we really enjoyed the pool,sauna and whirlpool.The room was clean and comfortable and quiet and the staff were friendly. clarion hotel is Beautiful. we loved the pool. the room was clean. the staff are nice and helpfull. alot of parking. The person at the front desk was courteous and helpful. I also liked the fact that he smiled the whole time. The restaurant had good food, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. There was also a gym and a pool. It was clean and very welcoming . The hotel was very close to the arena that my daughter was skating at. You shud be able to get a room for $109/night. I wanted to upgrade and was not allowed to because of pre-pay rate. Given the location, it shud be more reasonable. I did not like that there were no smoking rooms. Both bed lamps were out, used mugs were not replaced (still in the sink when we came back, but the towels were changed) because of that we were also not sure if the glasses were replaced with clean ones. We could not order a movie because it was locked.we phone the desk and were told that they would look in to it,but alas our grandchildren did NOT see the movie they wanted. 30 min. from the falls. we didn't like the Restaurants Breakfast food took to long and came out burned. only one waitresses she needed some one else to help her. Maybe do some updating. It was a bit isolated from downtown, so unless you have your own vehicle, it isn't easy to get around. The poor service in the restaurant . We have no negative comments. Slight unpleasant odour in hallways and room. You feel like you're in the middle of no where. Need to replace outdated T.V.'s. Air conditioning in rooms TOO LOUD, every time it turned on during the night it would wake me up. Some of the room furniture is outdated. Room was dated and the beds were uncomfortable. Charged visa without giving me a chance to pay cash in the morning. But that wasn't the hotel. That is bookings.com. the drinking glasses were not very clean. Service in the restaurant was very slow!!! One cook doing breakfast and room service apparently, and rude waitress as she was overworked!!. The small $9 glass of wine . T.V. was ancient and the remote did not work well. Soft pillows, I need a hard, firm pillow no room freshener for the bathroom. limited staff. The room heater was very noisy. Dusty in the room. Mattresses not great. Residue on floor or bathtub was icky. Door handles, light switches, Kleenex boxes etc looked a little rusty and very worn, dated and rarely dusted or cleaned. If the room was more thoroughly cleaned, the rest of the issues wouldn't be as noticeable. I did not like the dinner we were served. It was slow and not very good. There were no other diners. We were stuck eating there as we had to be at a funeral visitation early. I also found the carpet in our room dusty and smelly. Every time the heat came on it woke me up from the noise of the unit. Woke up at 1:30 a.m to loud chatting in adjacent room, called front desk twice and they did nothing to resolve issue, resulted in a poor night's sleep. We were surprised to find all the points of interest, including restaurants, lie in Buffalo. The hotel suited us as a place to stop en route to Niagara, having seen Buffalo that day, but wouldn't be handy for visitors to Buffalo alone. Breakfast should end with check out?.
