James (the manager) was amazing and very helpful! He was very knowledgable about where to get a quick lunch and where to hike. The food at their restaurant was top notch and very delicious! We ate there two nights! Breakfast was great and had all the basics to start your day off right. The cabins are very comfortable (especially the shower!) and cute. The property and cabins are very well maintained. Very relaxing to sit on the porch reclining wooden chairs and kick back. Very nice to sit by th.
all reviews » The dinner we had at the lodge was excellent...very different and interesing combinations. The included breakfast was equally yummy with lots of choices. The room was very comfortable and sitting out on the verandah in the comfy chairs was so relaxing and peaceful. Loved the location along the river and away from the hustle and bustle. Everything about Cathedral lodge was good, I especially liked the location and accommodation. Staff were ultra helpful and very friendly, nothing was too much effort. The lovely lady at the bar even put in a quarter to be able to give me notes rather than more coins in my change. I would recommend Cathedral lodge any time. LOVED it. Very expensive. Beware of additional costs (high prices in restaurant, tip requested for breakfast). GPS information and map provided on letsbookhotel.com indicated the wrong location, i.e. the cemetery of Field, accessible by a gravel road. Hopefully this will be corrected soon! Hotel is very clean. The service we received from all staff was excellent. We ate in the restaurant each night, which was nothing short of outstanding... by far the best scallops & pheasant I have had in a very long time. The views were fantastic, and the cabin we stayed in was quaint & comfortable. The staff and the Lodge were above and beyond. Beautiful place clean and cozy. We will go back even if there is a natural disaster like the washed out Trans Canada Hwy which took place while we were there. Miss the place already. Malachowska family. Cabins were cozy and we really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace. Peaceful and quiet and away from major resorts in the area - Lake Louise - but very close by for a day visit. Dining room was excellent. Young and enthusiastic employees. Staff was extremely accommodating, nice and helpful! Breakfast was included and was delicious. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner there and had s'mores outside for dessert another night at the outdoor fireplace. Our cabin was on the river with no one in front of us. We were about 60 yards from the river. The view from our deck was fantastic. Chairs right on the river so you can relax. Will definitely go there again. You can hear the highway and train traffic at night when windows are open which is a little strange since you cant see them from the cabin- and you feel like you are secluded in the middle of nowhere!. Nothing!. This is not a not like, more a suggestion. A few more fire pits near the river would be good. We were lucky to get the only one down there and had a number of fellow guests coming past eyeing it off, i felt a tiny bit uncomfortable after a while. Proximity to the train line made it a little less serene on occasion, but certainly not anything major. Nothing. Loved it all. Not much. Nothing. nothing,. Nothing. leaving. nothing. We were quite disappointed with the quality of the food. We were there 2 evenings for dinner and were disappointed both times with our meals. We both had the special halibut one night and both are meals were over done, dry. The entrees were on the pricey side therefore expected the staff know how to cook fish. The other night one meal was over cooked and the other was bland. location is just ok, nothing special - located in a small wood. Overpriced, not very good value for money. No wireless. Wish it had a spa or hot tub. No tv or wifi. No wifi (only slow PC) and no TV room available. The size of the rooms is pretty small. Twosuite cases is almost too much. No proper cupboard to hang dresses at full length.

The beautiful new Lodge is home to a magnificent Great Room and the Dining Room and Bar. The Restaurant at Cathedral Mountain Lodge has enjoyed an excellent reputation for innovative presentation and fresh regional cuisine. Information about the area

For guests wishing to explore the park on foot there are literally hundreds of fabulous trails each of which as a unique experience. The staff, managers and owners have hiked most of these trails and would love to make a recommendation to you.

For the visitor who has a limited time frame to explore the park, you may wish to view the park using some rather unique exploration vehicles. While staying with us you can choose from helicopters, snow coaches, gondolas, jet boats, ATV's, canoes, river rafts, and other forms of transportation. All these activities combine a unique experience based on the unique World Heritage Site you are visiting. Again, the reservation and front desk staff will be happy to make a reservation for you and prepare a daily itinerary.

Room information details

The log cabins feature wood burning stone fireplaces, stocked daily with the firewood and cedar kindling, and comfortable private decks with fabulous views. Cabins are furnished with pine log queen size beds topped with luxurious cozy down duvets and feather pillows. The large sitting areas are beautifully appointed with Canadian antiques; tall sliding doors lead to spacious bathrooms with deep soaker bathtubs.
Cathedral Mountain features log cabin accommodation and is nestled beside the Kicking Horse River and surrounded by glacier peaked mountains. The cabins offer a break from the routine hustle and bustle of urban life and in keeping with this concept do not have televisions or telephones.

Travelling information

From Vancouver Airport you will want to go south on Highway 99 towards Tsawwassen (Ferry Dock). Exit onto Highway 10, which will be labeled as the direction to reach Hope. After the town of Langley, Highway 10 will join with the Trans-Canada Highway #1, which will take you east to Hope. At Hope it is best to leave the Trans-Canada Highway #1 and take the Coquihalla Highway as it is shorter. The Coquihalla Highway will take you to Kamloops where you rejoin the Trans-Canada Highway #1 heading west. Follow this highway all the way past Golden and into the Yoho National Park. 60 kilometers the town of Golden and 2 kilometers past the town of Field there is a turn off to the left clearly marked Yoho Valley Road or Takakkaw Falls. Traveling 4 km along this road will take you directly to the lodge, on the right hand side after the first bridge.

Please keep in mind that Cathedral Mountain Lodge is 840 kilometers from Vancouver, much of which is through mountain terrain that may necessitate slower driving.
